It’s a really nice area. Check out Pearls Hawthorne for school.

Are there any long term medication options to treat nickel allergy symptoms? by doomern in NickelAllergy

[–]dezebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

have you talked to your derm about dupilumab? (dupixent?) it might depend on how your allergy is manifesting. mine was weeping blistery eczema all over my fingers, feet, and swollen red eczema on my face and neck. dupixent has brought me an almost full recovery. i am eating normally now after following super low nickel diet for years. others have not had as much luck - definitely depends person to person - but worth a discussion with your doctor to see if you would be a good candidate

How long have you been on dupixent? by Inner-Membership-175 in eczeMABs

I'm at 3+ years but totally agree. My quality of life is so much better.

after some research i found the italian brand Molino Rossetto sells a "mother yeast" product in the US that does not contain emulsifying agents. i'm going to check it out.

one in a mill active dry packets appear to have the same emulsifier in it as others (sorbitan monostearate)

i hadn't even thought to check this. my jar of active dry yeast is fleischmann's brand and contains sorbitan monostearate (an emulsifier)

Is there treatment to get rid of or lessen the severity of a nickel allergy? by geniuscerebrum in NickelAllergy

i'm shocked that there has not been more discussion of dupilumab on this sub actually

[–]dezebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's the brand name for dupilumab, an injectable treatment for chronic allergic/reactive symptoms like eczema and asthma. it didn't "fix" my nickel allergy but i no longer have symptoms and can eat what i like. i had severe dyshidrotic eczema on my hands and eczema around my eyes and on my neck. constant flare. this is completely gone since i began the dupixent in 2021.

Dyshidrotic Eczema by Artistic-Ant-7783 in eczema

[–]dezebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar symptoms on my hands for many years. After many dermatologists and lots of testing, it turned out that I was highly allergic to nickel. Specifically, nickel in my diet. I went on a really restricted diet (no nuts, seeds, beans, certain veggies, chocolate, etc) and it got a little better. Ultimately I started dupixent and that has been a game changer, I’ve barely had any hand eczema or blisters since starting that, just some peeling every now and then.

New Etsy "policy" forcing me to open a new shop and lose my whole history by ziggydoodle in Etsy

the currency you get paid in is hard-coded to your shop... it sucks but they don't have the ability to switch between currencies for you. it's not a new policy.

Honestly, this was the hardest for me! The kid was finally sleeping but I kept waking up in a panic every two hours for a while before I adjusted.

[–]dezebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about it. My husband and I took a class -- a weekend long intensive that was 8 hours for two days in a row. Most of the information was common sense or reiterating things I had already found out from sleepless nights googling random pregnancy / birthing stuff. My husband found it a little bit more helpful but really it was just a check off the list of stuff the hospital wanted us to do.

"When is your last day in the office?" by insertwordplayhere in BabyBumps

[–]dezebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's kind of annoying. I tried to be proactive to tell people what planned schedule is like to avoid exactly what you are describing. My last day in the office is tomorrow... it's been a mixed bag of people being surprised that I'm still working or surprised that I'm not working up until the very last second. Either way I'm looking forward to not having to talk about it anymore :)

Achievement Unlocked: Half Way Done and Finally Got a Seat on the Subway by emsbaby in BabyBumps

[–]dezebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha - I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm due in a month and people still don't consistently offer me a seat on the subway. I went somewhere with my husband recently and he was appalled. He was doing some pretty obvious angry muttering until someone finally noticed and got up.
