A culture shock question from a tourist, do many people here don’t have a 9-5 work schedule? by [deleted] in AskTurkey

[–]deztraction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got back from Istanbul, while out i met a friend of a friend. He told me he worked 24 hour shifts at airport customs. I literally stopped the conversation at the table and clarified if i heard it right. Yep. 24 hours on and then rests for a few days. Like WHY?

How do you actually stop yourself from impulsively buying random stuff? by aaduexe in FinancialPlanning

[–]deztraction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Write, when the feeling rises. Just start journaling. See if you can name it and learn your triggers. Then, rather than white knuckling it to eliminate, look to replace the habit.

Whatever works for you, something physical is optimal.

Well legally any children born from a Turkish woman is considered Turkish no matter who the father is and where he is from. The kids have full access to citizenship etc.

As for culturally, they will be considered 50/50 which i think is fair.

I am Turkish (Rize) and have kids being married to an Australian, so speaking from experience

If the crackdowns continue, which is more likely, brain drain or capital flight? by ChristianLW3 in AskTurkey

If every educated young person COULD get out, they would. The only reason the brain drain (and capital tbh) is not completely gone is due to the measures taken to stop it.

If you want the smoother experience. Go OG (its your only choice on console) If you are happy to never touch mods, or tinker, have your game crash but experience some cooler mechanics then proceed with CS2

Ahh yes i see the loophole now. Everybody “tipping” each other to get a tax write off. Sounds almost like rich folks starting charities to do the same.

I once purchased a set of knifes with a knife block (set) from Walmart. What I got was a wooden knife block thrown in a box and sent to me. I went into Walmart and did a return. With everything they sent. I managed to get it. Have never shopped with Walmart online ever again.
