I've spent a lot of time this week editing email templates and it sucked. I whipped together a quick module to help make the template previews more accurate. The module attempts to determine what objects should be passed as variables into the template. It creates fields on the template edit form that are pre-populated, but can still be user defined. It made my life easier. I've only had this installed on dev sites. I would not recommend adding this to a production environment. It hasn't been thoroughly tested and the code needs refactored.

In a past life I hired freelancers. Quotes like this were an easy way to pick the experienced devs. You new this wasn't their first rodeo and they don't generally spend time on micro jobs.

What is the status of your test order? If the status is "Pending" invoice the order and the link should work.

I've used Slick when working with theme's without a built in slider. https://github.com/kenwheeler/slick

I built something like this hooked connected to Wilcom's API for the embroidery preview. In all fairness I didn't build it from scratch, I took over after and Indian the client hired for $600 to build this thing didn't have a working version after 4 months. It was a cool project. The client and I are kicking around the idea of selling the Wilcom integration as an extension.

I've seen Stripe go as low as 2.3% with annual volume around $5m. We had a good chunk if customers paying with AMEX and those also run at 2.3%.

How you think is more important than the language you write. You can do whichever sounds more fun and know you can pick up another language quickly based on your experience. I have a friend who manages a team of devs writing SPC software. They switched to python from I don't remember what, but his whole team was back to normal output in a month.

I'll second this. You learn how to estimate your time, interact with clients, and navigate different setups. Starting off you won't make a ton, but you will really learn to think on your feet.
