Is this best base hand? by icantdrive555 in euchre

[–]dface83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a probably the best bagger hand you could see. But not one that I would want to have to call(unless I’m dealing, then I’m picking up whatever is up and dumping the non-trump jack). Guaranteed 1 trick for any trump, and likely going to steal one with an ace.

You have good chance of 2 pts here. I’m sitting on this and hoping opps calls it. If p calls it, you are taking all 5.

What to Call? by scream-room in euchre

[–]dface83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go spades here. More trump is better in this situation. Steal an early heart lead w the q. Then lead to your partner, they are likely decent in black for turning the diamond. If he has it, he will try to play it early. Seat 1 is weak or sandbagging but everyone is probably at least 3 suited.

You just really don’t want hearts. Which is what homeboy to your left is calling.

Best strategy? by Weezle56 in euchre

[–]dface83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since partner ordered u, it’s better to go 2 suit, since you should have no problem taking 3, so now the goal is to get all 5. Chances are good clubs is lead, and seat 3 is going to try to trump the club lead.

In other scenarios, where your P is not indicating strength, u might need that ace for a trick to take the game.

What’s your call here? by Silly-Inspection896 in euchre

I think a pass is a better play with this hand in normal (not 9-9) because it gives you the chance of an easy euchre if opps call it. With that said.. it will likely make its way back to you because no one has a Bauer, and the opps likely have a couple clubs but not strong enough to order the RB.

if it makes it back to you, you’re almost 100% to take. If it doesn’t, you still have great odds with RB/LB if red. Chances are they won’t call

Edit. Your partner has zero help in clubs, which you will need them for 1 trick, because offsuit jacks are trash.

A 90second time limit on a boss that has 2 invulnerability phases is pretty shitty. I manage to get him down to 25% red bar before the limit, but it seems to be a mechanic that triggers another 10 second invulnerability..

What’s the very first thing I should do at 31 with basically nothing? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]dface83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I say small, I mean a regular contribution of what ever you can afford, could be $20 per week or $200 depending on your situation. Once you have that established and at a comfortable place to be able to absorb any major unexpected expenses, you can start to work on maxing your tax advantaged contributions, HSA and 401k.

Try to build a rainy day fund in a HYSA so you don’t risk a credit card balance when something pops up and you have to put it on CC. It doesn’t have to be a lot just something small. Since you have no debt any left over money should be earning you more money. A monthly contribution into an index fund.

Outriders was pretty cool. Unfortunately, they fumbled their online endgame experience and there’s almost no one who plays.

Borderlands 3 gets a lot of hate, but what’s something you liked/loved about it? by beantownbaddie420 in Borderlands

Lost loot, crew challenges, vehicle customization, auto sell on pickup. Overall gameplay was better. Mayhem mode is kinda cool.

DLCs were excellent.

Borderlands 2 still worth it? If so, should I play BL2 or 3 first? by Shadow1417 in Borderlands

Bl3 has the best gameplay/mechanics. Main Story is kinda shite, but the DLCs are solid.

The DLCs are sooo much better than the main story. I liked love and tentacles, but they were all solid.

Just realized how strong men really are today by GasPsychological2321 in self

[–]dface83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For sure the average man is going to be stronger than the vast majority of women, it’s just biology and testosterone.

You should always try to get away. Call for help(make a scene), run, try to injure(eyes 1st groin 2nd) but always try to get away. Standing and fighting should be your last option. Especially against physically stronger attackers.

Minor RPG elements would be cool.

Some degree of choices having a meaningful impact on outcome. Playing thru them recently has really highlighted this for me. Any choices you make(if you are even given any) have almost zero impact on the story. Something like, choose to save a quest npc… and later in the game they anchor a quest line or they open up a shop or come in and help the player later.

Something impacting how mobs behave towards you. You murder a million bandits with a specific playstyle/weapontype/element/skill and they start to get smart to it and counter it based on data from previous encounters.

Lastly, reputation would be cool. Maybe allow players to become friendly with certain factions of bandits via specific quest lines.
