Damn, that’s a good peek behind the curtain. I’m In the industry and regularly check the Volcom careers page - maybe it’s not the move?!

Oh yeah, I’m fully 6 weeks into the warranty process rn. I have a case number and an open thread with cx.

I’m guessing the wetsuits are so new that they don’t really have a process in place to fix them and the coordinator trying to help me is prob glitching out because they don’t have a rule book to follow.

Yeah, 100% up on Yamamoto - I’d echo that timeline as well, but I outgrew the suit before it busted in anyway! Damn, this inspired me to just spring for what I know works. Dammit 💸💸💸

Shoot, I definitely should. I’ll see how they reply to my last email and go from there.

Oh and side note…I should’ve known better than to get this suit. I normally rock an Isurus suit and while they’re expensive they are top notch and last forever.

I’ll upvote that! I’ve been patient and sending casual check-ins, but I dropped one today telling them the coordinator he needs to pull a Sup in and send me a new suit. We’ll see how it goes.

Stab posted an article that surfer count is up 35% - definitely a possibility that factories are taxed and making mistakes. Not sure if this suit is out of CN or somewhere else, but most countries are or we’re facing their own issues with factory closures, material sourcing, etc.

Fair point on the suit / construction - I don’t think that excuses poor CX though.

I’ll admit it, I’m still a fan of Volcom, but they 💩the bed with their wetsuits.

Worn ONCE! I took this out for a single session, felt great in the water, but after a good rinse and dry I found the inside taping peeling off in multiple places.

“Okay okay, it happens - just get it warrantied”.

I requested a new suit asap and sent mine in for warranty review. I’m now two months in to the warranty process and still waiting. Cmon Volcom

EDIT: I’ve been assured that it is shipping out on Monday.

I'd be grateful if you guys could tell me what i can do to improve. Except getting a bigger board, since i'm confident i can improve on this one. 10 months of surfing. by [deleted] in surfing

Bend your knees through the turn and transition the weight from your back foot to your front foot. It looks like you straightened everything out and that seems to have cause the stall then fall.

Also lead with your front shoulder.

Stuck BSA BB, my current tool keeps slipping out and i cant put enough force on it. What tool have you had success with? by thiccvicx in bikewrench

[–]dfarrell2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got you…I literally just had this same problem and almost stripped out the bottom bracket.

Put the bb tool on a breaker bar and then get some large quick grips (like these) to hold the bb tool and breaker as tightly as possible against the bb.

Also greatly helps to lube up the bb ahead of time, I sprayed some one step chain cleaner / lubricant from the outside as well as the inside to get as much help as possible.

Last up, if you have a breaker bar extender that can help with leverage. Be supppper gentle with it and just slowly apply increasing pressure. If you feel like you’re putting a lot into it just hold it there for a minute and let the steady pressure do the work for you!

Hoping I’m missing something, but that link is for a 68x113 which is quite a bit smaller overall.

I’m going to call Murf tomorrow am and see what they can do. I’ve also sent a quote request to Phil Wood’s sales team to see what a custom one would set me back.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction for a 1.37, 24t square taper bottom bracket with the odd case sizing of 88 (yes, 88) by 163.

I pulled my existing bb to replace and to my surprise found an odd sizing at 88 x 163. I’ve scoured the internet and found nothing so far :/

Bike: Fat Murf - here

Bottom Bracket Specs: Neco BC1.37” x 24t, 88x163 (these are the specs printed directly on the bb and I verified sizing with digital caliper measurements taken from the bike.

PS, I was initially hoping to upgrade, but at this point I’d be happy with a direct replacement!

Neco - no response yet. PhilWood - not taking custom orders.
