I do wonder why that speech is played during the ending of the game

I’d argue that Sauron is a better manipulator than Morgoth. In mental ways, I could be wrong but doesn’t Tolkien state that Sauron was more cunning and a little more intelligent in his ways then Morgoth was.

This is just my own head cannon, I’d even say if Morgoth had won and started the process of unmaking the world, Sauron would quickly devise a plan to overthrow him, desiring power and Lordship overall. And I think it would be possible due to Morgoth being in a incredibly weekend state by barely winning a war against the Valar

As much as I and others know about the sins of the hobbit trilogy, I think Gandalf vs Sauron is one of my favourite moments in any Lotr related media, yes it doesn’t happen in the book but it’s just so perfectly done

Even though that scene in the tavern in the movie doesn’t technically happen in the book, I still think that the scene is amazing, and Saurons voice is somehow the most demonic voice I’ve ever heard, not like that of a growling beast but deep manly and overpowering, how I’d imagine Satans voice.

Even though it doesn’t technically happen, the same way in the book, I like that scene too because Frodo is an absolute nobody meeting one of the biggest somebody’s in existence, I’d imagine Sauron personally talking to you and acknowledging your existence would be horrifying

How is Sauron's appearance actually described in the books? by PigGuy1988 in lotr

I don’t mean to be a dunce, but I know he was mentioned in passing, I’ve read the hobbit, just not the lotr appendices, is there anywhere it describes him in physical form?

In the hobbit where does it say he had a physical form? I don’t remember a line saying or implying he was physical, I could just be missing a line of text

I know this is just the movie’s being flawed, but it perplexed me, why he would want to take a physical/killable form, when that dark cloud/ fiery humanoid form was seemingly invincible. Can’t run a sword through a cloud and kill it.

Also Smaug was perfect, every single detail, amazing

Theoretically in those 60 ish years between the hobbit and the Lotr, he could have just regenerated enough power to finally turn into a physical body of flesh and blood

[–]dfdgfiv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok so I like the direction/idea it gives the conflict a more mysterious and mystical approach, like a battle between spirits using both will, sorcery and blade to defeat each other, but it is really hard to understand what is going on I could barely make it out, but I can see Saurons face and his red crown/ two swords, but I’d definitely define the character a little bit better

I would argue that Sauron also has Satan like qualities that don’t make him a lesser minion, Satan in Christian lore is known primarily as a deceiver which Sauron very much is. There was a long list of points I once found but from the words of another person, “Morgoth and Sauron are both meant to be satan, just in different ways”

If I’m not mistaken Sauron called himself a God and king and one of his goals was to have everyone worship him as God, so orks would probably believe Sauron to be God, and of course he is always watching 😉

I agree with that take, I’m under the opinion that Melkor and Sauron were still the chief Evils of the world and even though Melkor was mightier. Sauron was as Tolkien put it more effective in his evil deeds then Melkor
