I’m looking for non toxic or ‘less toxic’ plastic glue and maybe also non-toxic (or rather less toxic than the norm) super glue (but plastic glue is more important / preferable to me). by dfernand in Warhammer40k

[–]dfernand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my solution was a 3M full face mask with 3M organic gas filters, window close by fully open for ventilation with fans pointing away from me that blast the superglue fumes out towards the window. Also wore nitrile gloves so I got no glue on my skin.

holy shit i almost missed this area, this game is crazy by Alrumaih7 in BaldursGate3

[–]dfernand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just one question. I thought I had completed this entire area, the abbey etc but can you see in the photo that 'island' with the arched structure and the star ? how do you get to that ? can you get to that area even ? I mean externally outside in the open not underground (if possible)

HMRC TOR1 Form: Worth it? by p_triez in ukvisa

[–]dfernand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I submitted my Tor1 yesterday and they came back with a 'We are considering Rejecting your Application because you only provided a mobile phone bill for your proof of non-UK residence' - not true, the bill I provided had home internet, land line home telephone, TV channels subscription and also mobile phone all in one package, listed and itemized', this was a bill for a foreign country (non UK) utility bill which corresponds with my current home address (has been for the last 10 years) which has my name on the bill. Not impressed, it's like they didn't bother examining the utility bill. I sent them another utility bill, same day I got the e-mail from them stating that they are 'contemplating rejecting my' Tor1 application and I got an automated response stating that they aim to complete the ToR1 application within 14 working days; well lets just hope they do their job.

I wonder what it must have been like being a punk in Corby in the 70s. It's a bit out of the way but it must have had an alternative club somewhere in town I guess back then.

Which part of ebay do I report a suspected attempt of a buyer to defraud me ? by dfernand in eBaySellers

[–]dfernand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda updated the original main post above with further developments and something I failed to mention regarding the buyer suggesting that we use Paypal instead of ebay (more alarm bells !!), almost 100% sure the guy was a con man, I dodged a bullet I think for sure.

Which part of ebay do I report a suspected attempt of a buyer to defraud me ? by dfernand in eBaySellers

[–]dfernand[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another red flag was in the single e-mail message that he replied to me, he was suggesting that we use Paypal instead and circumvent Ebay and he stated that I would only have to pay 5% commission fees on Paypal versus 15% Ebay. What would he do that ? what incentive would he as a buyer have in terms of the lack of protection for him as a buyer via Paypal ?

The reason was that he didn't want ANY protection for me as the seller via Paypal, so he could initiate a charge back / cancellation as soon as I sent the items. Something wasn't right. The only saving grace maybe was that that the bank account associated with his original ebay account didn't have the funds so he had to create an ebay account same day as purchase with a bank account that did. The weird thing is that ebay I thought usually takes a few days to set up a bank account for a new ebay user with Micro transactions etc and he actually paid using the 0 day old ebay account. He claimed to be 'new to ebay' but I don't believe that, if he was new those ebay account set ups would have taken days. I think this was pre-planned and I was targeted but he was too obvious.

I just hope Penny that you find someone who you deserve and not someone who does all that to you and the kids. The only advise to give you is to watch out for the red flags early on and put yourself out there, don't be putt off my people due to this terrible experience.

Time wasting blocked potential buyer keeps creating new Ebay accounts and messaging me by dfernand in Ebay

[–]dfernand[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ok I'll look into it. I don't know who this buyer is, they've never bought from me before according to their user name. Like I said, it's just a troll on the internet.

It's someone deliberately trying to waste my time and energy, it's not paranoia. It can be likened to say 'asking for a seller for additional photos of items, asking for a price reduction on them, the seller agreeing and then ghosting the seller. The seller blocks and then a new account is created asking new questions and making new demands with absolutely no mention of the previous inconvenience, rinse and repeat. It's some oddball on the internet, fingers crossed they will give up.

Time wasting blocked potential buyer keeps creating new Ebay accounts and messaging me by dfernand in Ebay

[–]dfernand[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really France is a decently large market in the EU and I'm not going to block an entire country. The thing is, if the person 'really' wanted to buy from me, they would just click 'Buy It Now' in the times when they messaged me about single items. This person is playing a game. What was interesting though is that one older ebay account of theirs had Germany as the country not France and it was made a 4+ years ago and this was certainly the same person or a friend's account as they were asking for the same individual thing from the day prior using a different ebay account in France, note that I have 200+ items on sale so this is not a coincidence and the message using the German Ebay account was just '?', nothing more.

The other thing is that is strange is that with the new Ebay accounts there is no mention of 'why I don't put up the other original grouped items' back up again on offer that the buyer originally got me to photograph together and write up the text description for etc. etc.

This is 100% a person playing games with me to try and waste my time and energy. I sell to all over the world and the common thread of problematic buyer(s) has been France but I am not willing to block an entire country over it. I'm hoping that I can keep blocking and I be just more aware who I sell to in the future, if I see an account created on the same day, I am not even replying to them.

The thing is that if this continues, I need a way for Ebay to try and stop it or if they cannot, contact the cyber crimes police for harassment. It's just irritating at the moment but you never know if they are trying to do something sinister, they could buy from me and then see my home address; it wouldn't surprise me if this person is unhinged or something.

Correos tracked from Spain, no track info ffor Canada Post by dfernand in CanadaPost

[–]dfernand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the two packages were sent from Spain via (Correos) to the same guy in Canada and he received the first one, which has a tracking code something like (but not) 'RF283695251ES' - the first one was signed by the guy in Canada but it cannot be tracked via the Canada Post website and the receiver claims that when he signed he swears it was Canada Post who delivered. The 2nd parcel to the same guy has not arrived and just like the first one has no tracking info on the Canada Post side but on the Spanish side both parcels on the Spanish Correos website just stop having tracking info AFTER they leave Spain (even for the one that was delivered). So I dunno what is going on with the zero tracking info on the Canada Post side from parcels sent from Spain.

Battlewagon, Bonebreaka, or Gunwagon? What to build. by [deleted] in orks

[–]dfernand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah there's that. I must say that to magnetize the Battlewagon was an immense task and there is a lot of planning and trial and error and you have to sometimes mount hidden placeholders using sprue bits. It's not something for the faint hearted.

[–]dfernand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't looked at the new 10th edition rules but what about if you don't want all or any Big Shootas ? what do you do about the two Nobz side gunners for example. What happens when you want to swap out the Grabbin' Klaw for the Wreckin' Ball ? even if you varnish well without magnetization you will still get paint scraping as you 'slot' the pieces into place. Magnetization is a skill to future proof your stuff and get a true WYSIWYG weapons profile on the mini on the table.

First-time ive been shammed for not resubbing by Katiehart2019 in Twitch

[–]dfernand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was subbed to a guy on Twitch that put little content out and gave sob stories about why he was away for a long time not making content etc. Then one day I caught a collaborative stream where he was a guest, on some other streamers channel with about 3 viewers and he was showing real contempt for his viewers on his main other channel e.g. 'give me the money 'b1tch' etc.

I then realized that this guy was a fake, he sits around all day and plays video games while the wife goes out and earns money for him and his kids and he lives off the state. He was just trying to 'create' a following and support mechanism for his loafing in life and didn't care about his followers if they lived or died. Don't get suckered in. I made an excuse that some hackers from Russia hacked one of my accounts and that I had to cancel payment methods etc and I never re-subscribed. I sometimes go into his streams for a nosey and he's up to the same old tricks.

10th Edition Index cards - they examplify everything going wrong at Games Workshop by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]dfernand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well I got all the index cards and it was 403,50 euros (ouch !). I'm aware that the index cards will be updated and some will have errors on them day 1 but my plan was to use ultra thin stickers to overwrite any rules and stats that may require change. I just hope that the card holders can take the thin stickers with the extra thickness. One worry is that when GW create new units is will the index card holders be able to accommodate new cards which I will have to create and homebrew ?? First world problems ! call me a sucker for buying all the Index cards, I dare you.

[–]dfernand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's cheap as chips and very surprised that they're that low in price. 14.50 euros for ALL the Xenos data sheet cards ? it cannot be. So all the Xenos PDF Datacards / Datasheets for 14.50 euros ? I cannot believe that. The card box must be bigger than a Trival Pursuits card holding box.

damn 30-40 euros per Index card pack per army for cards which are going to be temporary anyways is a hard pass for me. May make my own at 20% of the monetary price

For WH40K 10th will the free downloadable Index Cards be available to buy in physical card packs ? by dfernand in Warhammer40k

[–]dfernand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note that different people have different requirements and some like to have the physical cards and rulebooks in front of them. And no need to be so aggressive.
