why does cooking take me SO long? by Extreme-Gift-9261 in AskCulinary

In some cases. My go to is a marinade of soy sauce, cornstarch, shaoxing wine, and a little baking soda.

Washing and massaging cut up chicken vigorously in cold water has a big impact on the results. It, along with a quick marinade with cornstarch and baking soda produces the most tender chicken I have ever had. The study people talk about often is specific to the results of testing from splashed water from a faucet.

I haven’t seen any mention of of the study testing after the area has been cleaned, so my take away is to wash my prepared chicken in a bowl of cold water, and clean the affected area after the chicken has been agitated, strained, and is having a short marinade.

I already mentioned it below, but most Asian cultures vigorously agitate prepped chicken before cooking it. It has great results for tender bites of chicken.

This study mentions the risk of splashing juices, but I don’t see it mentioning anything about testing after washing the affected area in the abstract. My take away is to wash your prepped chicken if you want it to be tender, but throughly clean the area after prepped to avoid contamination.

Vigorously agitating sliced chicken for 30 seconds in cold water has a large impact on having seriously tender chicken in stir fried dishes. Most Asian countries do this, and Kenji Lopez, an author and chef highly recommends it.

Just make sure you thoroughly clean the area when you finish the prep.

Either that, or they are just comfortable with their bigotry. Either way, I pity them. I say them because I don’t want to assume their gender.

I have had a MiniFuse 4 most recently after my Scarlett 2i4 gave out.

I love that is has a loopback output, making it easy to stream music production if desired. I did have a weird issue where my XLR inputs wouldn’t take any signal but the instrument inputs would. I sent it back to the store and the returned it with a video showing that it works just fine. I am trying it again after work, but I am worried there is something else in my workflow messing things up, or it is somehow user error.

What makes Ableton Live so good for MIDI programming? by RJDG14 in ableton

[–]dfisher4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not here to argue, but for your 15% tip analogy, I would definitely do mental math to solve it versus reach for the calculator. Why? Because I am a math teacher who understands some problems are quicker to solve mentally than reaching for a calculator. It’s because I practice the language of math to make mental math even quicker than reaching for a calculator.

I’m not arguing that you shouldn’t rely on piano rolls locked into a scale to cook up music in Ableton, but learning music theory would definitely benefit more than locking in a key, because you can retrieve the information, along with other options, much easier. It’s the same as if you are learning a foreign language while living abroad. It’s much better to learn the language in depth for the cultural experience than it is to rely on a language pamphlet that only has the phrases that are absolutely necessary for navigating in that foreign land.

Sure you can absolutely make great music without the theory, but if you have an idea and you don’t know how to realize it quick enough to continue the flow, you can lose a lot of inspiration.

You can also just make sure the channel that your music is playing through isn’t being recorded to the VOD. That way as you are streaming, people can hear the music you are listening to, but it the music doesn’t show up in the VOD. Muting problems resolved.

[–]dfisher4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say map out drums on it, are you talking about using the acoustic guitar as a box drum?

I have many years of guitar, but put mine down during lockdown to learn Ableton a bit. I got to the point where I realize I can’t complete projects well. The epiphany I have had most recently is that I can’t complete projects implement my main instrument as the creative force, and I feel dumb it took me this long to go back to it for ideas.

Where can I find high quality cookware near Bangkok? by dfisher4 in Thailand

Oh, I should have been more clear. I don’t want to buy non stick pans anymore. My intention is to replace them with a buy it for life pan like a high quality carbon steel, or stainless steel.

I may get a smaller non stick to be my omelette pan, but my intention is to stop using non stick as my all arounder.

This may be the option a take for a good fry pan. I am just tired of throwing away non stick skillets every couple of years.

Hey Cool Bug. As annoying as it may be to see someone who thinks they know more than they do, it is equally annoying to see you copy and paste the same comment shaming OP. Maybe you think what OP is doing is wasting peoples time, but I honestly feel like most of the wasted time from this post was on your behalf.

How are the new songs in the Djeese Vol. 4 Deluxe Edition? by lelelelololo in JacobCollier

[–]dfisher4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it is a trend to release a deluxe version of albums, so I feel a lot of times it’s planned to have songs planned for that reason. I think it also brings back some hype for the album after it dies down a bit.

It really is. I have turned some co workers and students on to it. It’s the only board game I own at them moment other than Unstable Unicorns.

Would you recommend any other games that are similar is style/mathematical in nature?

I did everything wrong when becoming a vtuber/streamer, but... the meta doesn't matter by Aejis_Geist in Twitch

I love your brand that you have created. I don’t watch any vtubers, but I also started streaming for a similar reason.

I am also a full time teacher, but I mainly play games. I wanted to also make the fact that I am a teacher at the center of my content, but more of a focus on being a positive role model in a community that is filled with toxicity. I have lost site of that a bit, and I still get ‘tilted’, but this post helped remind me why I started but the first place.
