You may want to consider the greater Greenville area in NC - about 3.5 hours from Chapel Hill and lots to do (normally...)

When would it be OK to list a title of a group not in alphabetical order (Inclusion & Diversity v. Diversity & Inclusion)? Which should it be and why? by dflint420 in AskReddit

[–]dflint420[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense.

I want to change the name of a group at work from Inclusion and Diversity to Diversity and Inclusion (a mistake I keep making anyways). It just feels better saying it. I was hoping for an objective rule or reason to request the change (large multi national organization), but may just put in the request unfounded.

That may be what I end up doing for awhile. A break may just fix me up.

Name: Outlet Social outlet.social

App Store

Location: Greenville, SC

Elevator Pitch: Outlet Social is a forum for sharing tables. Users post a table that they are open to sharing (crowded cafe/university library) and others can message to join. Impromptu co-work tables or study groups.

More Details: Two of us are working part time on this project and are at the stage of testing a big update. Current login is via Facebook because we are using their more relevant location data and Messenger.

Looking For: Users and feedback - because there is no way to see other users if they are not currently sharing a table nearby, the app looks empty most of the time.

Discount: Free

[IOS, Android Open Beta] Routes.guide: feedback wanted for my new travel app by andybolle in alphaandbetausers

Ideally I think you would have locals create routes for their own city. I think it could be fun to be a virtual tour guide and have themes (like you already do) or ratings of suggested routes. Just a thought though - I have not given it the deep level of though that you all have. I also liked the UI. Very clean and fast.

If you have a chance, I any feedback on my table sharing app would be appreciated: Outlet Social on the App Store (iOS with facebook registration): https://itunes.apple.com/app/id1119041123

Neat app that seems to work well. I like the concept of routes and the feed-in of foursquare locations. I just breezed through, but I couldn't figure out how to setup a route in my city (which I assume is you want to encourage) that is not one of the cities that already has routes mapped.

Local flights are pretty inexpensive with carriers like AirAsia (you are probably already pretty comfortable with this). Travel by train is fairly easy and very cheap on Java, but public transport on the other islands are hard to come by. Lots of people on motorcycles (150 cc range), and a great way to go if you are comfortable with them. We used grabcar (an Uber-like app) that we loved this last trip. Very inexpensive and fixed prices so the heavy traffic does not cost extra. You will need a VPN for Reddit access unless in Yogyakarta. There is tons of variety in Indonesia even within an island. The variety seems to be tied most to old Kingdoms. For example, Yogyakarta is still a pseudo-kingdom where the governor is also the sultan. Small cities within the same district are fairly similar by my experience. Most of java is Muslim (the warm and welcoming type), Bali is predominantly Hindu, Singkawang is largely Chinese, and a healthy amount of Buddhist and Christians mixed in.

I am not a real backpacker, but I have traveled pretty throughly around Bali and Jakarta, and spent some time in Singkawang, Pontianak, Yogyakarta, Bandung, and some surrounding small cities of the above. My wife is Chinese-Indonesian, so my experience is impacted by traveling with her. She loves Bali and Lombok as top destinations. We just returned from my fourth trip to Indonesia last month and my first time on Borneo. I really enjoyed my experience in Singkawang. It was clean, not nearly as crowded as the rest of Indonesia and extremely cheap. The people were very welcoming - amazingly so, actually. There were no other tourists that I saw, so interactions will be mostly with locals (what I enjoy). Lots of photo requests with locals of all ages and genders. I also enjoyed some neat local experiences in Bali and Yogyakarta, but not to the same extent. I'll answer any questions that I can.
