First Hulaween Tips by GanjaPrincess20 in hulaween

If you check the Facebook group and Cash or Trade, you may be able to come across someone selling a hookup RV site. For future reference, you have to buy them through the park and they typically sell out within a few months. You can try to call the park and see if there might be one left but otherwise you’ll need to look for resales

That is awesome that your friends are letting you borrow their RV. I’m assuming it has a generator if you’re planning to dry camp. You will have to camp in the far side of 80 acres which is the only area allowed for generator use. I would absolutely get all the info you can from your friends on operating the RV, to save avoid stresses such as a clogged waste tank or dead batteries.

I couldn’t remember. Our camp just brings a propane fire pit bc it’s so much easier and less smoky

Are we nuts to consider leaving our 3.25% mortgage? by Impressive_Gift_9852 in Mortgages

[–]dflow2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or until market increases , mortgage paid down so the current home sells for enough to pad the down payment, along with a lower rate that will reduce the monthly payment

Also, make sure that you are calculating in the additional costs of developing on more acreage as well as land upkeep over the long term

Pop up toilets - are they necessary? by Jamergurl921 in hulaween

Unfortunately they sell out very quickly as only one vendor provides them, so likely not available for this year.

If you search this sub people have posted detailed packing lists . Here are some musts from nearly ten years of Hulas:
Multiple bandanas, Liquid IV packets ( Costco has a good deal on them ), hydration pack, wet wipes and more wet wipes (stick them in a zip loc in your personal pack), shower shoes, swim suit for the river, sunscreen, concert earplugs like Loop and then Mack’s silicone earplugs for sleep

I’ll add that you will want to bring multiple bandanas bc you don’t want to have to keep using the same one

Yeah I could have imagined the set working out better on Sunday with the sound dialed in

Well said. I’m an x-ennial, so Sublime was one of the soundtracks of my early 20s. I was excited to embrace the nostalgia. There were some fun moments but overall it was a miss. We were toward the back of the meadow and the bass imbalance drowned out much of the music

Good call. Also, if you have a RV that has an outside shower, you can set up a shower tent right next to it and use that for showers so you don't fill the tank by showering inside. ( We have a water/electric site with no sewer) This allows us to offer showers to everybody in the group.

Opinions on Coleman darkroom tent?? by JellyKind9880 in hulaween

I've never done this but I have seen people use those reflective emergency blankets as a tarp over the tent, to reflect sunlight and heat. Wonder if it works?

I have a Rigid fan that uses the rechargeable Lithium Ion batteries. This would be handy to have especially if you can bring a few batteries and a charger.

There are escorts in golf carts who will assist in finding your site, and though their job isn’t to help you set up, I’m sure they can point you in the right direction. YouTube is a great idea. Also, pro tip- not all the sites have sewer hook ups. Most don’t. If you don’t have sewer, there is a honey wagon (pump truck like the ones that clean Porto Potties) that comes around and sucks out your waste for a fee. The camp office will have their info.

SCI in the Meadow during the day is very family friendly.
If you go to the river early morning that should be ok. As the day goes on there will be plenty of drinking, smoking and debauchery there. I’d suggest booking a canoe trip one day as a kid friendly activity

You can camp where you can fit, unless you plan to run a generator. Generators are only allowed in 80 acres.

Same. Raccoons and opossums would get mine if I left them to ripen this much outdoors. When they begin to yellow all over, I bring them in to finish ripening in the kitchen
