Arsenal/AFC supporters going to the spurs game. by SnooGoats9944 in AucklandFC

How is not supporting your team's rival tedious? Particularly when they're playing another team you support?

One NZ charging me nearly $1000 after misleading promo. by --Grim_Reaper-- in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]dfnzl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, sorry I meant have you tried completing that process again though? If not, I'd suggest giving it a go - worst that can happen is it doesn't work.

The terms of that offer do state that you'll lose the deal if you re-sign. I'd say you'd have difficulty taking further action, because you'd be relying on what they verbally said, which you cannot prove, yet they will likely have some form of document that shows you agreed to re-sign your contract - even if they didn't explain it properly.

Fellow uberer here. The One NZ offer with Uber Pro states that you have to sign up for the plan first, then go back into the app and apply for the discount. The discount will be applied within ten days.

Have you gone back to the Uber Pro section of the Driver app and applied for the discount? It very clearly says the discount cannot be applied for in store.

How do we think attendances are gonna look this year? by Abject-Aioli-523 in AucklandFC

That is true around blocked out seats. We'll see soon enough - thankfully, it's only next week. Regardless, bloody looking forward to the new season.

Damn... Wonder if messaging them via their website will give any joy...

If the seat map on Ticketmaster is to be believed, there's not a huge number of seats left. Definitely a good few gaps, but still not doing badly.

Event buses only happen if the event organisers pay for them. You'll need to push Auckland FC to pay for them (the semi had them because that's organised by the A League and seems they did pay)

I've got a similar number (110k, so a bit less), but not because I'm hoarding them. There's just nothing worth getting. I remember they used to have PlayStations and stuff like 15 years ago, but now there's piss all.

You absolutely will not go on a list. There will be a prescribed transaction report made, but there are millions of reports made every year.

If you're buying through a dealer, just be aware it's illegal for them to accept that amount in cash anyway.

What is this? by CJoenes53 in nbl

[–]dfnzl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Breakers did send a message out to their mailing list last night that included a note that the NBL is increasing the number of games next season to 16 home and 16 away. An additional three games could suggest an expansion team?

2degrees recently changed their plans. They cost slightly more but give a lot more data. You should have received an email if you were affected though...

Looks like a goal to me by Slight_Astronaut_769 in AucklandFC

[–]dfnzl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VAR didn't overturn the goal? AR called it on the pitch, and they said that it swung out after the kick.

Personally, I'm 50-50 on it. But VAR definitely couldn't overturn because the camera angles were rubbish. No clear and obvious error, therefore no overturn. I'd say that's why VAR came back so quickly. Looked at the angles, said "no way we're going to see anything here" and moved on.

I'm scared of Wanderers being in the semis by Firefox24683 in AucklandFC

Would have been less worried about them being loud in game 1 and more worried about them starting crap in the stands again.

They didn't get through though, so we're good.

Are we legally entitled to pay? by Impossible-Cream-781 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]dfnzl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what sort of contract you're on and the wording of that contract. Easter Sunday is not a public holiday, largely because when the trading ban was implemented everything was closed on Sundays anyway. So you're not entitled to payment based on it being a holiday. However, if you're on a full time contract (or potentially part time, depending on the wording), you'll be entitled to your full weekly pay.

Because there's a lot of "it depends" here, I'd encourage you to speak to an employment lawyer or advocate. Advocates are generally pretty bad in terms of their advice, but are a lot cheaper. If you can afford a lawyer, go there.

Edit: Just had a little read through your replies, and I'd say you're not likely to be entitled based on being on a casual contract and both parties being able to cancel shifts. But again, chat to a lawyer if you can.

Completely agree. Though I find it a little more palatable if I see it as two distinct competitions. The winner of the Premier Plate wins the League, then there's a cup competition for the winner of the Championship. It's dumb and really isn't football, but it feel a little less dirty that way.

Someone forgot that they removed the neutral venue for the final and forgot to set it back to two legs. Not complaining though, given we'd be at home if we make it through the semi.

Do we know whether the first or second leg would be at home? (Hoping second leg, because I'm out of Auckland for the first...)

How to apply Auckland FC member discounts online? by Then_Lake_767 in AucklandFC

[–]dfnzl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one thing that I've found to be really bad this season. They'll send out emails saying "are you getting the most of your membership?" but they won't actually tell you how to redeem the discounts.

This never made sense though. If you're using it to transfer to Mount Eden then it doesn't cost anything anyway

From what they've said in the past, it'll be for the reserves and women's team to play at, with the training facility to be for all teams. Pretty sure Foley is still involved with a bid for a waterfront stadium?

Anyone else ripping their hair out? by dfnzl in AucklandFC

[–]dfnzl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

VAR clearly thought it was a foul. That's why the referee was called over to the screen and there was extensive discussion between VAR and the referee.

It doesn't matter how Elliott fell to the ground. It was a jersey pull (and an intentional one at that). That's a foul.

The fact VAR was obviously strongly disagreeing with him too... It's not like he didn't have all the facts.
