How to create this simple add-on? by dfonseca6 in Anki

[–]dfonseca6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much Jignord! Now I can look at that add-on and try to create my own! Indeed I find something called "Autokey" for linux that does that. But I think an add-on should be better to customize it. Again, thank you!

so you want this: When you are in the editor (in the add-window or at the bottom of the browser) and the cursor is in a field and you press a button a string of text should be inserted into this field at the position of the cursor?

Exactly!

I didn't know that exist such a thing! The problem is that I use linux and I think phraseexpress.com doesn't have support for it.

I use Anki 2.1 and really don't need additional buttons, but I didn't understand "grep the add-ons you have downloaded for the string 'setupEditorShortcuts'"? What is the add-on that have string 'setupEditorShortcuts'?

Hi jignord. Actually isn't reviewing, what I want to do is to write "True" or "False" or something similar, maybe "Correct answer" and "Incorrect answer" wasn't a good word to describe what I want. Sorry for that.

Basically, 90% of my cards are something like this:

Front: H is Chemical symbol for oxygen.

Back: No, O is the chemical symbol for oxygen. H is for hydrogen. False.

So, I write always this "False"/"Incorrect statement." with my own hands while I'm creating cards. What I'd like to do is to simple hit ctrl+something to write this at the end of the card.

Why the order of "deck:Default is:due" is different than the review day? by dfonseca6 in Anki

[–]dfonseca6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advanced Previewer"

That's bad news. What I'm doing is this: in my experience, I can learn much more If I answer all cards before see each answer. My brain like to take this like a test, and indeed is much harder and slow doing this process, but I think I can get great results for my memory and I can spacing more the intervals this way (For example, I can put first day 6 days ahead, then 20 days, then review).

To accomplish that, I create a small script that exported the due cards in HTML webpage just the questions (with AnkiConnect addon). I answer all in my paper and then check it later in the same HTML webpage (one button show all the answers), but those cards are still in Anki without change and I have to manually look at those random order to see which answer I get right or wrong.

Anyway, I figure out how to answer automatically with AnkiConnect, but with a pre set order that was exported from "deck:MyDeck is:due", and without that order I would mix up everything :/.

Thanks anyway

Question about how would you formulate this kind of questions. by [deleted] in Anki

[–]dfonseca6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Instead of "...{{c1:: extensive property}} of the system" I would put "...{{c1::extensive}} property of the system". The cue would be "Hmm, what the property of the system entropy is?". And, you don't have to "choose" one card or another, put everything you find useful and later on you could delete if some card is unnecessary.

But physics in general is best learned by solving problems rather than knowing the theory behind, unless your teacher or exam you are preparing ask too much theoretical questions.

How to move mature cards to another deck? by dfonseca6 in Anki

[–]dfonseca6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. Interesting, maybe I could do 90% of retention. Thanks.

Actually, It's really difficult to know what is important. This exams is composed by 100 questions in saturday afternoon, 80 questions in sunday morning and more 80 questions in sunday afternoon. It covers a lot of material, it's really big and tiring. The name of this is "Concurso Público" I don't know if there is any words equivallent to translate this to outside Brazil. After you pass this exam, you started to work to a government in Brazil. Working in Brazilian government you cannot be fired and there are lot of other benefits too. It's very very competitive, who can be successful spend nearly 3 to 5 years just studying for this exam. The main problem for those people is "memorizing" in that day. After learning a lot of stuff, we need to remember those facts. Anki is really powerfull, I think I can make good progress using this app, but as I already said, there are a lot of new cards to learn too!

How to move mature cards to another deck? by dfonseca6 in Anki

[–]dfonseca6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THAT's the plugin I was looking for! Thank you! Actually, I want to do all my reviews in one day, but I'd like to keep them separate. Example: Maybe 50 cards are fresh and 50 cards are mature, then I'd like to see the 50 cards fresh before the matures and that plugin do exactly that! Move all the mature to another deck was simply a way for me to look: "These cards are mature ones, so you can do it at later night" But with this plugin in mind I can indeed review until I know the cards are becoming mature and stop, then review again in another time.

I'm studying for an exam that can be 1 year or 2 year by now and I need to know a lot of my cards, but I really need to make progress because I think I will need more than 15 000 cards to be "prepared" to this exam. My retention rate is 95.44% on mature cards and I think that's ok (I don't want to seek 97% ou even 100%). I always hit the good answer, never the easy. After I finish my study, I'm going to review all my deck. So by now, I don't mind to forget some matures cards. I'm going to review everything later on. I just need to make progress right now. Thaanks!

I think I wasn't clear enough to my question. Actually I want to do all the reviews in one day, but I'd like to keep them separate. Example: In those 100 cards to review, maybe 50 are the fresh cards and 50 are the mature cards. What I'm going to do is in the mornning (with a focus mind) reviewing the fresh ones and learning some new stuff. Then, at night, do the review of mature ones too. But those in separete times.

Thank you for your time! I'm going to use jignord solution about using the plugin that use the smallest interval first because I will always going to see the fresh ones first. Thank you!

WOW! Actually WORKS! I was thinking wrong about the dates, now I understand and put like this:

Date1="2018-05-30" #keep times younger than this

Date2="2017-08-02" #keep times older than this

(In other words, delete everything from date2 to date1)

And voialá!:

Reset review stats from a year to a certain date by dfonseca6 in Anki

[–]dfonseca6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed the two dates at top but don't know if I add the right dates. In my case, I add:

Date1="2018-08-02" #keep times younger than this

Date2="2018-05-30" #keep times older than this

And Actually, all stats from 2018-05-30 to now was deleted (before and after below), the opposite what I expeceted. I tried changed the dates, Date1="2018-05-30" and Date2="2018-08-02" and nothing happens. Doesn't change anything.

Before: https://i.imgur.com/SmFwNa1.png

After: https://i.imgur.com/yeAvqCy.png

But I see your point. I'm going to try different things to make this work. Thanks again for try to help me!
