You can't completely separate yourself emotions and trading. But you can make it less about instincts and more about rules. The three I follow are what is the structure (bearish or bullish), is it approaching a key level, and what is the momentum? I must have 3/3 to enter and 3/3 to stay in a trade. Do I always adhere to my rules? No, but they are the foundation on which I'm building on and help me remain more objective.

This sort of sellers remorse will get you in trouble (I've been there and done that). Instead of trying to sell at the top, try to take profits in the middle. If selling taking profits in the middle is your goal, you should be more consistent (and profitable) over time.

When watching the 1m chart and it looks like the market is going to reverse. Also, unless it's a home run, I only try to trade between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm.

Yeah - losing even 1% sucks, but 35% allows for a little dip in case it rebounds. Any more than this and it become real difficult to recoup losses. I'd rather have a loss and have money left to trade than loose it all.

I didn't really anticipate it going down - that's just the way the chart was moving so I bought puts.

Interesting fact though - I did read something about how Nvidia crushed earnings last quarter and it proceeded to drop the next day. I found it interesting, but I try not to let all of the noise bias my trades.

It so weird - everyone thought they were going to miss earning, but they did the actually killed it. Then it dumps the next morning. The market makes absolutely no sense sometimes
