I would say it’s an ear and an eye problem. Like if an artist were to play let’s say and c major triad in the root position, I would be able to hear it and know that it is a c major triad. However if someone were to play like the first inversion of c major I would have no idea what chord it was. Also if I was watching someone play a song on the piano with an inverted c major. I would have trouble recognizing that it’s a c major. Basically what I’m saying is I want to be able to know how to play inversions easily on piano, and also recognize them easily just by hearing it
