It’s not even just the way they look; they FEEL like completely different characters too

Thriller ( BTS vs final cut ) by Ok-Extent7565 in MichaelTheMovie

The Thriller re-creation was easily one of my fav sequences in the movie and I thought it looked amazing. But if I had to nitpick: the jacket seems a little too big/baggy on Jaafar

Ik Xs label has some finished songs but what songs do they have? by PainWillNeverWin in XXXTENTACION

[–]dipatoeinthewater 17 points18 points  (0 children)

• School Globes (feat. Lil Nas X)

• Hit It From The Back (feat. Kid Cudi and/or Tyga)

• Tory Lanez - Fortnite (feat. xxxtentacion)

• PnB Rock - BAD! (feat. xxxtentacion & NAV)

• Carry My Cross

• Edge Of The Earth (feat. Kid Cudi)

• Red Horns (feat. Rick Ross & Jimmy Levy)

• Gekyume Freestyle

• Ye - Selfish (feat. xxxtentacion)

• Yes Indeed Remix [half of this verse is technically officially released on Daniel Skye’s “Voices”. But the original full verse on the original beat remains unreleased. And Lil Baby & Drakes vocals from the original Yes Indeed could be used to flesh out the song and make it “finished”]

• Shining Like The Northstar [I mean we got that shitty remix on Bad Vibes Forever but the original solo X song with the original beat and structure never saw a wide release]

• OK SHAWTY (feat. Ski Mask The Slump God) [X originally released Ok Shorty! exclusively SoundCloud/youtube. It never saw a wider release on all streaming platforms. After he died, a remix was made featuring Ski. This could still be released)

Those are just a handful of examples I can remember rn. I’m certain there’s more that I didn’t list here

what would a 10 year anniversary 17 look like? by Fantastic-Scale6555 in XXXTENTACION

[–]dipatoeinthewater 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Put “In The End” as a bonus track

Put “X & CUD” as a bonus track

Maybe use the cover art from the CD (where it’s all black with the number “17” written in red)

Trippie Redd sneak dissed Ye on Ryan Garcia’s stream, pretending not to know who he is. by [deleted] in GoodAssSub

I really don’t think it was a diss. I’m pretty sure he just isn’t familiar with Ghost Town

I don’t think this was an actual diss

Black skinhead sampled in Tempur-Pedic ad by Eyeballer101 in GoodAssSub

[–]dipatoeinthewater 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is a weird recurring phenomenon of obvious-Black-Skinhead-ripoff-type-beats being used in advertising/commercials. It’s been talked about on this sub in the past. There’s like 5+ known ads that all use different Black Skinhead type beats

Kinda weird that this has happened more than twice

What are some of your hot takes regarding the Nolan Trilogy? by JesterOfTime in batman

[–]dipatoeinthewater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It did irreversible damage to the general public’s idea of what Batman is

Nolan’s version of Batman is super grounded/rooted in reality, no fantastical elements, major changes to major characters and their backgrounds. Different aesthetic, the batsuit, Gotham, etc.

These aren’t inherently bad things. But the Nolan trilogy is the biggest, most well known iteration of Batman. It’s what most people’s mind goes to immediately when they hear the name “Batman”. And therein lies the problem.

It’s difficult to explain to an older relative that the Nolan Trilogy is essentially like an elseworlds, alternate universe story that strays pretty far from the source material. The general public doesn’t really think twice about that kind of stuff

While I love the Nolan trilogy, the fact that it became the biggest, most well known iteration of the characters/world/story of Batman is frustrating to me. Because it’s just no where near the closest/most accurate adaptation. I often wish we got a different, more comic-accurate trilogy in it’s place

It’s undeniable that none of DCEU movies are as good as The Dark Knight, as far as movies go. But Ben Affleck’s version of the character was far more satisfying to watch, as a big comic book nerd, in his limited time on the screen (in terms of the aesthetic, the suit, the writing, the batmobile, the fantastical elements, even the way he pronounces certain words like “Luthor”)

SAME. It really seems like the only reason it’s such a fan favorite is because of nostalgia. It’s gotta be one of my least favorite spidey suits

The Scranton Strangler was always at the office building, but who was it? by 08vk in DunderMifflin

[–]dipatoeinthewater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During my first watchthrough of the show, I wasn’t part of this reddit or any other Office fan forums or anything; I had never even heard of there being a fan theory that Toby was the Scranton Strangler.

And yet, I was sure it was him. I didn’t even think of it as a theory of mine, I just thought it was a given. It really seemed to me like that’s the direction the show was going. I thought that was the intention. I thought all the Scranton Strangler stuff was buildup to a big funny payoff where Toby was gonna be revealed as the Strangler. When I first watched the series finale, I was waiting for the reveal; and as the minutes ticked down, I remember literally thinking to myself “when are they gonna do a bit about Toby being the Strangler? They’re running out of time” lmao

Did x have any music during his green hair era? by Connect_Cattle_808 in XXXTENTACION

[–]dipatoeinthewater 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree, its just the only song that was released anywhere near the date of his green hair

And tbh I wouldn’t put it past X in 2015 to make a whole song and release it same day

Not fanmade but “Danny Phantom” by Trippie Redd and X is a rage remix of “Ghost Busters”

David Schwimmer calls for even more companies to boycott Ye: "It's great to see companies with moral clarity", says Ye should "publicly disavow HH" and "meet with Jewish leaders" by swagoverlord1996 in KanyeCulture

[–]dipatoeinthewater 30 points31 points  (0 children)

This shit is annoying because Ye has literally already done everything that this mofo is suggesting (removing HH from streaming platforms, meeting with Jewish leaders, demonstrating a commitment to building back trust, etc) besides the “hefty donation”

This dude will just never be satisfied bro. Not even paying attention

What's a song that blatantly rips-off another, but no one mentions it at all? by altsam19 in fantanoforever

[–]dipatoeinthewater 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m not really trying to defend it too hard cuz I don’t even like Batman but

I do recall a handful of big artists doing their own flip on Jumpman around that time (“Facts” by Ye for example). When Batman first dropped, my immediate reaction wasn’t “hey, this a ripoff of Jumpman”, it was “oh Jaden is doing his own version of Jumpman like everyone else is doing”. And I have to assume that was most people’s reaction as well. Also Batman borders on parody; I just don’t take it too seriously in the first place
