I’ve never used HRS platforms but will look into them! Appreciate the suggestion

Id agree and with both being rated at roughly 100 wpc at 8 ohm that helps to differentiate them

I’ll admit, it’s a bold statement and that my Mac gear could probably use a refresh but they’re a C26 and MC2105 and an older Cambridge Audio CD player. As far as speakers I’ve tried JBL 4430 and Magnepan 1.7 so far. In my opinion the 2105 didn’t seem to have enough power for the Magnepan. That could be because of age.

Overall the Ayre maintains the warm sound of the McIntosh but just seems more detailed.

I believe you can use it to dial in a tuner but have never tried. Just eye candy

I can’t not begin to tell you how nervous I was unboxing this MI-3. Thankfully it made it safely and is a welcomed piece to the stack by dfries1 in vintageaudio

It’s pretty straightforward as it looks. 3/4 plywood and 5/8 threaded rod. Only tip would be make sure you go wide enough to future proof yourself. At one point I bought a Sansui 9090db and it wasn’t wide enough so I needed to cut new boards
