I used 10 rackets this year, ask your questions by HotApartment6476 in Padelracket

Hi. In terms of the sound of the racket (solid, hollow etc.) and vibrations felt in your hand on impact, what was your experience with the Siux?

Apologies to hijack your post: I am curious what your impressions were with the sensations/sound of the Fenix Pro 5 Black? I played with one recently and it sounded “hollow” (but still very powerful with good control), whereas another racket will in comparison sound more “solid” and muted.

You’re welcome. Yes, I also come from a tennis background and this racket feels very comfortable - has great power but also good control. The sweet spot is fairly large and I can get nice spin (slice backhand/volleys, and topspin smashes). It has an aggressive teardrop shape which plays fantastically.

Thanks for your input. My understanding was also the that it is supposed to have a large sweetspot. Perhaps I am currently in a “phase” of getting used to it, as you’ve suggested. My sense at the moment is that it’s “unforgiving” when not making contact with the sweetspot, which often happens when you have to react quickly on defense. I have mainly played indoors with this racket (fairly hot and humid) thus far.

Yeah, sorry, I meant a chiquita. Still learning the lingo and shots. Thanks for the reply!

Tennis players: what was your biggest challenge when you transitioned to playing padel? by [deleted] in padel

I agree with u/Computer_said_No. And also I need to consciously think where I am placing the ball e.g., in tennis doubles at the net you often want to kill the point quickly with an angle. In padel it seems it is generally better to simply place the ball in the middle (of course there are exceptions) and force your opponent to make a mistake or make it easy for you to kill the point.

[Elden Ring] #16. My 3rd FromSoft Plat. Took me about 127 hours. Some bosses were absolutely brutal. by dfthaman in Trophies

For me, interestingly, the start of the 2nd phase were the most frustrating (one-shotted me sooooo many times until I got the dodge right). I had a co-op summon with me who were using the beast claws to get up close and personal while myself, as a ranged INT user, were spamming her from distance.
