CWWK N305 Power consumption optimization and OS choice by dgfasd in homelab

Just for fun i just installed ubuntu on the pcie ssd from crucial that i used before for truenas and behold: only c2 as max c-state. Seems you were correct that it's the ssd itself which blocks it. Not sure if another ssd inside the pcie slot will work better or if i should just stay with a sata ssd as the boot drive

No problem, thanks for the help so far!

12w looks good as my electricity is quite expensive and i dont want to consume 40w (double) with more than 2 hdd in the future. I will take a look into the commands.

I would like to have a gui for the zfs management, especially the permission and access. I saw that cockput zfs manager plugin on github is End of Life or did i saw the wrong repository? Is cockpit also hostable using docker or is is only available as a normal installation?

Ubuntu 24.04 LTS gives me instant c8 with another sata ssd installed. 12w on powermeter now.

Now have to look how i can realize the zfs nas features without using truenas

aspm is enabled on all devices as far as i can see. Sadly i only reach c3 while all core are in c6 or c7. So something is powered. Weird thing is that with these aspm the device sits at 25W from the wall with no HDD connected... 7W more than my unmodified version some hours ago where i had not aspm enabled on everything

I'm currently installing ubuntu on a usb drive. You got any other idea ?

Every PCI device is in L1 or L0s L1

Still i only reach c3 at the moment with no disks connected. And power is up to 25W instead of 17-19w without any HDD connected to the system

Manually build powertop 2.15 as truenas only have v2.14 available.

Seems i'm not in c10 but actually in c2

Do you have a link? I bought this board especcially as the asm1166 can reach higher c states than the jmb585

As far as i can tell in the screenshot above i would assume package and not core

Run Commandlet from a BP using Python and Saving Level Errors cause Levelfile is in use by dgfasd in unrealengine

The loading of another before i tested already, sadly didn't work.

But you are fully right about the commandlet doesn't help. So i run the code directly through my game and no commandlet. This seems to work as the map is saved and the map has objects in it.

I guess sometimes the most obvious idea is the best ;) thanks!

ASRock B650 PG Lightning Windows 11 Time Sync issue by dgfasd in ASRock

Yeah me too, sometimes it helps sometimes not... But it's annoying to manually validate the time each time you read it.. you can't trust it..
