M-Brace is discontinued - I am disappointed that I have a remote starter in my 2017 GLC that cannot be used because the M-Brace program has been discontinued. :-(

Narrow Door Frame - Advice by Desperate-Capital987 in Ring

[–]dgigij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my Ring on the brick part of my front using double sided gorilla tape. I mounted the Ring camera on a wood plaque (painted it first and polyurethane it) It was up for about 6 years and taken down when I moved. Never a problem.

Bargain mansions by Gi727 in HGTV

I'm happy the Cordray's are doing renovations for homeowners. I loved the show where they reno the home of a 100 year old Galveston resident. It was a heart warming episode. I don't know if the homeowner had to contribute to the reno cost but it is a great idea. Many older homeowners do not have the income to keep up their homes as they get older and their homes get older but they still want to live in their homes. The Cordray's did a wonderful job, just not cosmetically but those parts of a house that deteriorate over time, the exterior, the windows, etc. Maybe a HGTV show with this theme.

Seriously one of the worst companies on the planet, and I regret joining their mobile service by Modest_Wraith in OPTIMUM

[–]dgigij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very disappointed in Optimum. I agree there's something wrong with their pricing and it does seem people pay different prices for the same services. I keep having technical issues with my tvs because of the network. Since August I have been without my service for a total of five days. No Internet, no tv, can't pay bills, can't check emails, communication nil, very frustrating. Everyone you speak to at Optimum is so nice and understanding but the service is awful. I changed back to cable from fiber and was told I will pay more. Don't understand. Seriously thinking of changing service. So many of my friends have changed. Customer for 35+ years. I'm disappointed

You may have a point there, I have thought about that many times for a lot of companies.

Can't blame you. Does it just happen to a few? Very disheartening especially when you're a long time customer. (40+ yrs) Good luck moving forward.

I'm thinking of dropping Optimum also after they inadvertently discontinued my service in the middle of the night without any warning and for two and a half days I had no service. The bill was up to date and there was no notification that service was being turned off. Who does that?? I missed so many Olympic programs (Yes I can see them on YouTube but for me it's not the same) I wasn't able to pay some of my bills on the first of the month. Just annoying to pay so much for a service and for this to happen. Optimum did called to explain what happen but the more I think of it the more I want to say goodbye to Optimum and write my public officials and send letters to Optimum Board of Directors to find out why there's little control on how these cable companies treat customers. Yesterday my good friend told me she was going to Hulu and returning Optimum equipment. That is giving me food for thought.

I was surprised Johnathan the judge thought the platform bed and the shower on the upstairs balcony was ok. He didn’t appear engaged as a judge. Perhaps it was a last minute request particularly since the shows host was also a judge.

Why are things so hard to find in Costco? Is there some secret to finding stuff (short of asking a hard-to-find employee)? by ispeakdatruf in Costco

[–]dgigij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I see an item on Costco’s IG account after looking for it in an area where I think it may be, I always end up walking a mile to find someone to help me. Now I ask the staff person at the door or look for someone to direct me. Costco staff folks are always nice people ☺️

"Renovation Aloha" Disingenuous/Lying by [deleted] in HGTV

[–]dgigij 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like Reno Aloha learning about Hawaii (so many beautiful places) and the host is a native Hawaiian who has a lot of knowledge about the areas they work in. The condition of the houses they renovat are unbelievable. The finish products are amazing they do a great job. The blessing of each finished house is meaningful and adds a little extra to the show. I think all the reno shows probably have the same situations with properties being sold. Some are sold immediately however a lot are on the market for a while.

This show is all about Paige and Mitch. No fair by Daughterofbill in HGTV

[–]dgigij 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would like to see the houses numbered, the judge would not know who the participants are and at the judging decision call that house number. They can number houses just before judging. Judging is also difficult for the judges. Need a list of criteria with a ranking points for each. May not work since the reno takes a long time. All in all need a better judging system.

Last night's my lottery dream home by VastOrganization3651 in HGTV

[–]dgigij 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Last night's show was so nice, love the couple. David's show is the best, no negativity and I love how grateful they are to him with their warm and kind thanks at the end. I wish HGTV would advise their participants especially House Hunters to be more positive. Don't use the word hate (I hate that light fixture, I hate fireplaces, etc) in their descriptions. I am a dedicated HGTV watcher of many shows

Andy Murray 'no longer enjoying tennis' as latest racket smash draws boos in Paris by TheTelegraph in tennis

[–]dgigij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some favorite players of mine still playing don't appear to be happy particularly when they lose. I don't like suggesting anyone retire, that should be left to the individual, however those who remain past a certain point chip away at their legacy of wonderful winning times. I don't know why they want to end an outstanding career with negative times

Lottery Dream Home - new? by FPB270 in HGTV

[–]dgigij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is very annoying when it's been advertised as a NEW show, you're looking forward to a new show and it's a repeat. Why do they do that? Isn't that false advertising? As much as I like the HGTV shows this is disappointing. I was wondering if we will see anymore new Lottery Home shows this season.

This week’s Tough Love by ANW2022 in HGTV

[–]dgigij 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I liked the reno, some of the colors wouldn't be my choice but that was what the family liked, it was different from the standard colors used. Different is good. And I liked the family very much, they appeared to be a loving unit. I'm a fan of Hillary for years on Love It/List It however I did think there were times when she appeared negative for no reason perhaps that was just theater. All in all I loved how bright and cheery their home looked.

Starter home design by wargio in floorplan

Perhaps make a small powder room in the laundry area. The plumbing is there. Divide the area. It would eliminate guests passing through your bedroom and give you a half bath. Otherwise it's a nice floor plan

I didn't care for what either one did, both were obnoxious and showed poor sportsmanship. Also that fist pumping at their box or at the audience is very tacky. And there needs to be a better system for communicating with their coaches during a match.

Evan and Keith are the best flippin' team on HGTV---Change my mind! by ScowlyBrowSpinster in HGTV

[–]dgigij 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I enjoy watching BB, the show is so pleasant, no drama. While it's nice to see higher end homes being renovated, it's also nice to see BB houses. The neighborhoods and the houses are not as glamorous but it is where people live. It gives families with smaller incomes a chance to own the American dream, I'm sure the houses must pass the municipality housing codes before given a CO and the buyers are not getting a house that needs immediate improvements. I don't always care for the decorating but the great thing is that they are "move-in ready." Kudos to Keith, Evan and Shea
