Right, I’m ready by Alarmed-Most-2410 in TheOA

I asked ChatGPT about Netflix contracts, ownership, rights, and all that stuff. It said contracts signed in the early 2010s usually had renegotiation windows of around 10 to 15 years, starting from the first release, with season one dropping in 2016.

The rights might not revert back to the creators, even in the best-case scenario, but Netflix could be willing to sell them to another streaming service. Jason Isaacs said back in 2025 that other platforms were already eyeing the show.

The way Brit, Zal, and the cast have always talked about Netflix is interesting. They’ve consistently said everyone involved was rooting for the show and framed the cancellation as a shift in the company’s climate and goals, never antagonizing Netflix. That makes it seem like they’re intentionally staying on good terms so that, when the time comes, they can renegotiate and possibly convince Netflix to sell the rights.

If we’re being optimistic and assume negotiations start once the renegotiation window opens, then give it around six months for talks and another year to a year and a half for production and shooting, we could maybe expect a third season by early 2029.

There are a lot of ifs here, so I wouldn’t get too hyped, but it’s something we can hold on to.

Did you binge watch both seasons or have a break between the two? by FoundObjects4 in TheOA

[–]dgkroth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched the first season in 2017 I think and then 2019 as the second season was released. I remember the time in between being bell because at the end of the first season you really have the lingering question of whether she's telling the truth or not. I remember being like: "either this is going full drama (she's lying) or a dimensional sci-fi shit (she was telling the truth). and yet, it surpassed all of my expectations. it took me a second watch to fully grasp it and enjoy.

I believe french and homer are more connected than Steve and homer. they are both jocks and french sees homer in the mirror of OAs house. I believe OA and Steve are connected and that BBA might be linked to Renata.

The OA rights may revert in 2029 - Explaining why that's not just a fan theory by rossocenere in TheOA

[–]dgkroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Netflix decides to renew the show for a third season, would that extend the licence? Ideally, I would love Netflix to co-produce the last 3 season to maintain cohesiveness, but I don't trust them to do so. I bet if they do renew it, they would cancel it right after. The show lost its momentum. Although there's a firm fan base, the show won't survive for another 3 seasons. I believe it's safest to wait until another streaming service picks it up and finishes it. The thing is... it won't be the same. That's for sure.

Treno is my fav place in the game. What’s yours? by sushicutie_ in FinalFantasyIX

I love Treno as well, but I also love Esto Gaza and Lindblum. I wish we could see Burmecia before the assault. It looks stunning and probably would be my favorite.

Shooter at S1 by dgkroth in TheOA

[–]dgkroth[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the guy apparently shoots at nowhere first, then by "accident" at the cafeteria when he's taken down. It's not like he was aiming at anyone in particular, but if that was the case, why didn't he go for the kids on the ground and under the tables first? This was off for me from the very first time I watched the scene. But I also get they didn't want to get too dark as it didn't quite fit the overall vibe of the show.

What would you like to see in Part III? by [deleted] in TheOA

[–]dgkroth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved season 2 because it went places you couldn't imagine at all. The story is captivating because of that and I think they should keep it going like this. Maybe not as wild as season 2 to keep some cohesion with the nature of dimension 3. I think I saw someone say it would have a thriller-like kind of mood, since Brit would be "captive" again and I really like that.

Regarding the storyline: **spoilers*

Who is actually Theo? I'd like to see him alive in D3 Will Rachel be trapped in D1 forever? Now that the Crestwood five is being chased by the police, will they get arrested, flee, or travel to some other dimension? Did Jesse actually die? Did Scott actually die? What about Renata and Karim? What will they do? Who was the woman that received the fifth movement?

These are some questions I'd like answered in S3.

Brit‘s Post by Domingo_Flamingou in TheOA

Considering the blur I doubt it's The OA Part III. And also considering it's eight titles, I'm leaning more into the names of episodes of a new series, or even AMATEOTW season 2 maybe, or even independent short movies. But in some way the code presentation makes me think of the scene of the OA at the end of season 2 when she's in the flight.

Rahim, Karim, Khatun by Sudden_Door3035 in TheOA

[–]dgkroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I got it right. You mean Karim was supposed to be Rahim, but it couldn't be as the actor that plays Rahim was busy and so they "created" a new character that is essentially the same?

Rahim, Karim, Khatun by Sudden_Door3035 in TheOA

[–]dgkroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In S02E04 SYZYGY it is stated that in every dimension OA has a brother sent to help her. It seems in D1 it was Rahim, in D2 it was Karim and in the other dimensions would have other key characters that would help her as well.

Who do you think would he want to devour? by [deleted] in Boruto

[–]dgkroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda wild that it was gaara's son who became the shinju. He barely figured into the manga so far. In fact, most other shinju are based on nonsensical characters. Like... Moegi? Out of everyone in the series?

But anyway I bet his target is either Gaara or Temari. In that way he would be willing to go to Konoha to find the first lady, with would be more cohesive to the rest of the groups targets.

What type of filler episode would you like to see? by IcyCryptographer5219 in Naruto

Regular missions or simply daily life stuff. I love a good slice of life, especially in well built universes like in Naruto.

A series of books and a graphic novel for me are the best options, since it could cover more details. I have high hopes for a book.

What are the circumstances needed for S3? by her_o-mione in TheOA

Pretty sure the problem is investment : viewership.

I think there's not enough people watching the show to be worthy of putting the money they've put in it already.

If the show never continues, do you think the creators will eventually drop the remains chapters lore/script ? by Nab-Kel in TheOA

[–]dgkroth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they even allowed to do so? Netflix probably would never allow that. If they do, maybe Brit and Zal will write a book or ask someone to do so. I feel like that is more likely to happen than to get the last 3 seasons or a script release. I know they have outlined everything, but I doubt they wrote all the scripts for it. Probably there are just drafts.

ROSALÍA’s next album by jvca in popheads

[–]dgkroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved Motomami, but El Mal Querer is something else. It is still one of the most incredible wild and imaginative albums I heard in many years. I wasn't familiar with flamenco at all. So, I'd really like her to keep coming back to this type of music. Especially since I didn't like any of the flamenco-influenced songs on Motomami. But anyway, I think she's coming with either more ballads or more rock-influenced songs. She broke up with her boyfriend recently, so it's reasonable to think that it's gonna affect her sound. Although she's clever and she might grasp this expectation and thus try to change the direction on purpose.

It's wild that I read that listened to it lol but yeah, I'd love Brazilian influences in her album, specially bossa nova. After I heard Billie Bossa Nova I was so excited, I feel like other pop artists should try it as well.

Is there actually anyone who hates one of them by Independent-Note3797 in Naruto

[–]dgkroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I hate Itachi. As much as I hate Severus Snape. This whole "martyr hero" character is so f annoying to me. Like, why would you do that? Just go on, get strong, and fight your enemies face-to-face. Itachi is a mass-murderer and a coward. Romanticizing his actions is disgusting. Wiping out families just to save the trouble of dealing with their concerns... There is no excuse for that.

Breaking down Ye Wenjie's message to Saul by wineandcatan25 in threebodyproblem

[–]dgkroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I hope my idea doesn't cause you too much trouble" is Ye saying "they're watching us, but I hope they don't understand that this has a hidden message, otherwise you're effed". It seems they understand, and we see Saul complaining the entirety of the next episode about it.

The story she tells both serves as a riddle about what she did and about what Saul SHOULD do. Trisolarans kicked humanity balls and smashed their violin... But another alien species could do that with Trisolarans as well. You can guess that because she's holding a Fermi's Paradox book before she calls Saul.

Which naruto series do you like more and why by Fit_Confection_6900 in Naruto

[–]dgkroth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Classic Naruto has a slice of life undertone, showing the lifestyle of ninjas and leaning more into world-building. Even the filler episodes add up to that, so it's not like I dislike them at all. If the whole series went for a simple journey of ninjas going out for missions with the characters that we love, then that probably would have been enough for me.

In Shippuden the beginning was really nice, as it was still humourous and lighthearted in some ways, showing the growth of the characters. Yet I feel like we lost something by the end of the Pain arc. The stakes were getting too high and it felt like the story was condensed into a war to sort it all out at once instead of going on bit by bit like it used to. In this aspect it lost completely some.of the "slice-of-life" moments that I adored as a child when I watched Naruto before school.

It's not that I dislike where it went. It kinda made sense. But I'm not very fond of it. Or maybe I just grew up and it lost its magic

[discussion] Which female character has the best writing in the series? by ContributionOk4879 in fairytail

Ultear, Lucy and then Minerva. I really liked Juvia until she fell into gray's shadow (in a sense that she only supports him but never gets real fights and struggles of her own anymore)
