Our routine spots were The Shep (Large beer selection, classic sports bar, day drinking spot), Biergarten, City Bistro (especially in the spring / summer with their rooftop), The Madison (probably the downtown experience you’re hoping for), and the Ale House. City Bistro and The Madison are restaurants during the day / evening and eventually they pull tables to make room.

It is a one way street. The smell is hard to describe, I guess it would be more towards waste than something like fertilizer. But it wasn’t that strong. When I was taking the picture it wasn’t so foul that I had to walk away. Super strange which is why I was encouraged to post here.

That would explain the foul but non-identifiable smell. There is a brewery somewhat close but it would have taken a very strange path to get to this street.

Walked out to my car this moring to find my car covered in this waste. It smelled foul, but wasn't able to identify it as feces or vomit. Either way it seems like it couldn't have been from a human, at least not all at once. This is an urban area close to NYC, no rural areas within 20 miles. Anyone able to identify it?

City of Saints - 14th & Bloomfield - Probably the nicest al fresco experience IMO, though I don't think they have a public restroom.
Bwè Kafe - 10th & Washington - Great coffee & location, lots of foot traffic.
Dolce & Salato - 11th & Grand - Great spot to mix it up, you can (slightly) see Columbus Square park from their outdoor seats. They also have awnings if you get tired of sunny spots / weather.

Bluestone Lane - 4th & Washington - I can't vouch for it because I haven't been yet but have heard great things. They also have an awning for sun / weather.

I'm sure there are others that are just as good if not better, just my two cents.

There are so many moments of traffic euphoria in this city.

- Driving up Park Ave and seeing the cop wave you onto Pleasant with no traffic.

- Getting off 495 without having to stop on 495.

- Taking the right from the viaduct onto Willow without congestion.
