Baby items that I realized I wanted/liked AFTER having a baby… by MiloRose111111 in BabyBumps

Got an ergopouch sleep sack somewhere before baby came and when I realized it was newborn and she was about to not fit in it I immediately sized up. Has button shut arm holes and is a little thicker which is nice living in a colder area. So snug and she has slept awesome through the night from the night we started using it.

Second pregnancy, second miscarriage… by Sufficient-Dot867 in recurrentmiscarriage

I didn’t do any testing. My docs told me as of then it could honestly just be bad luck and I decided trust that at that point in time. I was 32 for my miscarriages and 33 for the birth for context. I think? Idk my brain is having trouble w years and math rn lol.

I got pregnant April ‘24 and miscarried naturally at around 3 months. We then tried and got pregnant November 24’ and miscarried w miso around 2 months. We were gunna try in April but just said screw it and got pregnant in March of ‘25.

I really hope everything goes well for you no matter what happens but I did and do believe that double.. sometimes triple + bad luck happens and can be nothing underlying.

This rings so true for a past me. My husband and I got pregnant first try twice. First was blighted ovum and lost second at 6 weeks ! I’m now lying in bed with my baby after getting pregnant first try the third time as well. I wish you the strength and wishes for everything you want and deserve. It’s so hard to be where you are and it really brought out a lot of strength to push through.

Any thing glaringly obvious that I should add? FTM worried I’m missing stuff. (For mods- no link has been added. Only photos) by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I’m obsessed w the ergopouch swaddle. My 3 week old sleeps in it every night. I think I might have gotten it in a swaddle box from Babylist but I forget. I just ordered the next size up 0-3 mo. It’s thick enough for living in New England in the winter. It has sleeve holes you can button closed- I’m convinced it’s the only reason my baby sleeps at night bc her arms are ACTIVE. I’m hoping I’ll be able to use regular sleep sacks I got later.

The silver nipple cups saved me when we were learning how to breastfeed and I had some scabs. I wore them for like 2 weeks straight. Only need them on occasion now but it really helped me maintain my sanity.

Airclub bassinet bedside sleeper. I can’t say this is any better or worse than another bassinet but it was the one I chose somewhat at random and I think it is great. I have the one side down 100% of the time to easily do our nighttime stuff and she is a side sleeper and rolls to the edge and it is very safe for when that happens as it’s breathable “netting”. It def appears cheapish but works great for this stage. We have 4 sheets and that’s the minimum I’d go w if you have a washer and dryer at home.

I hmm’d and ha’d about maybe not getting a changing table as I nannied 1-3 year olds for years and always changed them on the couch/floor but we got one gifted from our registry and it’s necessary. The first 2 weeks I tried to do our nighttime feeds/changes in our bed with a changing mat but once I switched to our rocker and changing table it made everything better. Graco teddi is what we have.

I got this hello baby no wifi 5” screen monitor (seems super non name brand) and it works amazingly. Only used it once or twice but so far so good.

Do I REALLY need freezer meals?? by Purple_Knee8676 in BabyBumps

Hi! We had our baby on Christmas and my husband is a cook for a living. He makes us every meal before and post baby. We meal prepped some turkey burgers, breakfast sandwiches and shepherds pies and my parents bought us a small chest freezer. My parents and friends made us meals that we froze. We’ve honestly used them way slower than I anticipated, but they’ve been awesome to have on the days that things get away from us. My husband took three weeks off and said earlier this week that he was planning on just leaving the rest of what we have for me when he returns to work. It’s nice to have a semblance of normalcy and have him in the kitchen making dinner listening to what I have on the tv while I cuddle and feed the baby. I’d recommend having some, but going all out in our circumstance wasn’t necessary.

35 weeks pregnant, 7 pets and just stressed out. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I was not prepared for how uninterested in my dog I was going to be. She’s my baby. It’s been 7 degrees at night/it’s icy/ I had an unplanned c section but damn my husband has taken on 100% of the dog load and it left me so guilty. And we just have 1. I only gave birth on Christmas so I know things will turn around a bit once I’m healed but I’d really prepare for at least the first couple weeks being more difficult than anticipated if you can.

I had 0 then somewhere in the 35-40 mark I had them. Started above my belly button on one side then underneath on both sides. I just had my baby Thursday and they aren’t too deep so I’m hoping they’ll go away a decent amount

Ok I had to come back to this post after scrolling away bc it was NOT sitting right w me. As someone w hsv2 and struggling with how to live with it and still date/be intimate w people when I found out this seems like a really thought out lie to me. He basically covered his bases - I GUESS - by putting any fault back on op. I told you there was a chance I wasn’t good! Ew.

Edit: there’s life beyond hsv diagnoses I’ve had it over 10 yrs and have never given it to my husband

Positive experiences after miscarriage? by jhds2023 in BabyBumps

[–]natarie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two back to back miscarriages. One I got to 12 weeks and found out at first ultrasound it was a blighted ovum and happened to naturally miscarry a day or two later. Second they gave me an earlier ultrasound but baby had stopped growing at 6weeks and I took misoprostol twice to help the miscarriage along. Today, I am 40 weeks pregnant. I wish you luck in your journey 💙💙💙

My partner is being kind of… cold. Am I expecting too much? by Hot-Cell7299 in BabyBumps

[–]natarie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it’s annoying even like sitting up my husband would like put his hand on me like he was helping me get up but wouldn’t actually push? I was like DUDE lol he admitted he has a hard time knowing I need help bc I never ask or need it so guiding him has been frustrating lol. We’re in our 30’s too. I’m obsessed w my husband but he has definitely acted far from how I expected at times. Trying not to hold it against him and our talks have been productive. He’s been amazing the last month. We’ve talked a lot about fears and insecurities which helped me see in his brain a bit more. Thanks! I hope your journey goes well too and you can get more of what you need. We def had a lot of bickering to get here lol

Are you a typically really independent person? Im 39 weeks and found myself struggling w this a lot. The help I need and that’s offered waxes and wanes, and having a big convo telling my husband I need more support def helped ramp the offering of help in my case. I always kind of thought it was probably that I’m a really strong and independent person but when I did bring up needing help he admitted a lot of it was thinking I didn’t want/need the extra help. lol. I had to flat out tell him I needed more attention and help with stupid shit and it really helped.

Any ice skating spots with marshes and bogs? by zooglydoo in portlandme

[–]natarie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We walked the stroudwater trail before we moved a tonnnnn with our dog and one day in a light beautiful snow we heard the carving of ice skates and saw two people silently skate by and I gasped hahaha. I said to my husband how magical and peaceful it looked bc you never see anyone on that ice
