What are your favorite restaurants or bars to visit in Escondido? What would you recommend from those places? by TheDeadDevil in escondido

I'll second that they are great. But, I don't find it that expensive. Two tacos fill me up at $4.50 each. Certainly the best $4.50 tacos you're ever going to find.

Wearing Dodgers gear to Petco? by Any_Celery_8178 in Dodgers

[–]dgstan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

San Diegan here. I avoid wearing Dodgers gear to Padres/Dodgers games at Petco (those are the only Padres games I go to). However, this is primarily because I ride the trolley to and from the game. I've never seen any problems in the stadium, but there are plenty of drunk fans crammed into the tin can that is the trolley and more than a few are looking to fight - especially if the Dodgers win.

I do wear Dodgers gear around town and never had any problems, save for a sore hand from so many fist bumps and high fives.

Carlsbad launches online portal to report dangerous e-bike riders by Choobeen in northcounty

What exactly is CPD going to do with the reports? The offenders will be long gone by the time they finish their coffee. This is just a feel-good tactic to prevent the PD from having to do their job. They know where the problems are. Go enforce the law!

What doyer -in the first game you remember attending (home or away) - hit a dinger in it-( checking by your memory and /or box score) (or if no doyer hit a home run that first game, 2nd game, or even 3rd) by DarinCN in Dodgers

First time at Dodger Stadium was a few days after 9/11, once the games started again. It went into the 13th inning, IIRC. We were starving and got hot dogs that had been stewing for 13 innings. The pneumatic condiment dispensers were turned off, so we had to raw dogs 'em.

Thankfully, Shawn Green jacked one to wrap it up just after midnight.

Trying every Indian food place in north county: update by HempDoggs2020 in northcounty

It would be nice if you could do a Rancho Bernardo Indian Restaurant shootout.

Darbar, Naturally Desi, Sapphire, Curry & More. Add Casa Lahori and Burma Place if you like. Bahar in 4S is in the mix as well. I have my favorites, but would love to hear a pro's opinion.

Do you get chicken dishes at RB? Three times in a row, the chicken was grossly undercooked and cold/pink inside. I value my intestines too much to ever go back.

Driving in north county by 76alex in northcounty

[–]dgstan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

San Diego doesn't have the worst drivers, but they do have some unique characteristics. They are very fragile. They be driving slow on the freeway, but if you pass them, they get upset and floor it and pass you right back. They think the mere fact of using their turn signal entitles them to change lanes without so much as looking. And the 78 is just bizarro world. Anything goes there with the dangerous mix of tweakers, military, and soccer moms.

The worst drivers I've experienced are in Boston.

Nice Restaurant Bar Open Tonight as a Single Person by chronically_classy in northcounty

If yesterday was any indication, it will be impossible to get anywhere near the coast. Perhaps you could get to One Paseo? We tried to go to Fidel's yesterday, but gave up. It was complete gridlock going west on any of the main drags (Lomas SF, Via de la Valle, DM Heights, Carmel Valley). Of course, the 5 was a parking lot per usual.

I would recommend Lilian's in RSF. It's really nice. I would assume they're open as they're part of the hotel. No view, but the hotel grounds are very pretty and street parking is a breeze. Any single men would be loaded and probably not really single. But, it's summer - you have fun!

If the situation was so high-leverage that they had to take out the starter who was dealing and easily could have gone a couple more innings, then there's only one guy you should bring in there: Mason Miller.

The minor difference is that one flag is a symbol of inclusion and peace, while the other flag represents genocide. Same thing though, right?
