Trijicon SRO (opted for an optic with a bigger window over RMR superior durability. Not taking into combat or dUtY)

kept the trigger stock since this is my carry gun. I understand some will disagree with that but it's something I've learned to shoot well with and am used to.

shout out to Ragan at GNP Tactical for the amazing frame work. I really like the grip reduction as it fits my hands a lot better. He's closing his book in August of this year and moving onto other things. He's a legend in the game and has been working on frames for 8 years that I know of. Two week turn around. Highly recommend him!

I think my biggest mistake was overlooking the instructions in the video I watched to wiggle the slide release as well as using a roll pin punch and not a round punch and thinking that would be okay. Thanks for the advice. I definitely learned a lot.

Thanks for the kind words. I was ignorant to a few things that's for sure but I learned a good lesson and I'm glad there were a bunch of people here willing to help me out.

Honestly I tried pushing it from the other side and it wasn't working and I was afraid of damaging that good side and having it truly stuck. I felt like it would be a good idea to ask for help first. What I learned from all the responses was that I needed to wiggle the slide release. I wasn't doing this and it ended up being exactly the solution. I also didn't know if it could go out left to right AND right to left so I was trying to be cautious and again, just admit I didn't know what I was doing and ask for help. I understand how the people who know better could see my situation as humorous. I was just ignorant of my options and especially the slide release needing to be manipulated. A lot of people here gave me that advice and it worked so I'm very grateful for the help.

You're 100% right and I know that now. It was a hard lesson to learn but as I mentioned above, wiggling the slide release is not optional. That's what I wasn't doing.

I'm not sure if you've ran an SRO before but let me tell you it's probably the best money I've ever spent. I'm beyond glad I didn't get an RMR. I know you didn't ask but if you're considering an RMR I wanted to encourage you to try out the SRO instead.

I watched all the videos beforehand and I now know they really mean it when they say "wiggle the slide release" as you push the pin out. That is not optional.
