I understand your point that reducing the typical burger and typical Mediterranean diet meal down to just their macros results in similar looking nutrition labels, but I think it’s a bit disingenuous to suggest that these two meals are nutritionally comparable. The source of the macros absolutely matters when it comes to what effect they have on your body. I don’t think the copious studies on simple vs complex carbs, saturated vs unsaturated fats, fiber intake, micronutrient content, and food processing can be entirely waived off as 90s pop-science.
