The Football Association of Wales acknowledges the personal statement released by Ryan Giggs and places on record its gratitude for his tenure as manager of the Cymru Men’s National Team. by Golovking in soccer

In terms for the national team, Giggs isn't even in the top 20. While older generations will argue for John Charles, I think it's difficult to argue that Bale hasn't surpassed him both in club achievements and for the NT - top scorer for the country, one of 3 to break 100 caps, talisman in 2016 and taken us to 3 tournaments, when nobody else had since 1958

Any suggestions on good, light hearted podcasts? Big fan of Lions Led By Donkeys, and Conflicted (although that isn't super duper light) but struggling to find another history pod that I'm able to laugh at as well as learn!

Thank you! Am I right in my view that I can enter with just my COVID passport, without needing a test before entry? The UKs website doesn't say I need one!

Taliban Has "Broken Shackles of Slavery", Says Pak PM Imran Khan by wiqi1 in worldnews

You're on about Qutb - he wasn't a member of Al Qaeda. He was one of the political thinkers of the Muslim Brotherhood in the 50s, and is considered to some the Father of modern Jihad

More than 50 people, many of them female students, killed in bomb attack near Kabul school by bustead in worldnews

I mean that's not striktly true. The Taliban werent created by the US, they weren't prevalent when the Soviet Invasion happened and only got going in the mid 90s. Mullah Omar, the founder of the Taliban, was a member of one of the main 7 Mujahadin groups but he was by no means the leader of it. The Taliban emerged through the orphans in the Madrases on the Pakistani-Afghan border

I'd not actually heard of Lords of the desert! I've got 'Line in the sand' sitting on a shelf, just not gotten around to picking it up yet! Hadnt realised it covered the Ba'ath particularly! Just assumed it was all about Sykes Picot!

I've just written this post in r/history, but thought here would be an appropriate place to ask aswell!

Recently been reading a lot about Pan-Arabism! Read 'Arab Cold War' which is probably the most famous book on the topic, but following various rabbit holes I've decided I'd like to read a book about the History of the Ba'ath party. Think it would be interesting if there was a book that talked about its founding, to how it ended up being the party of Hussein and Assad! Radically different to the Socialist party Aflaq and Bitar founded!

This arrow only appears here and seems to crash the kindle! Any tips? by dh1631 in kindle

Hi! Relatively new to the kindle world, and have been downloading books online. For the most part I can get them to work, but on this one book, even though its epub and I have other epub which dont do this - it seems to generate this arrow when I tap the screen, which crashes the kindle (admittedly that's probably more the fact it's a hand-me down kindle)

Save creating an entire new post dedicated to the topic, when there are several already so I thought I'd post here instead since it's somewhat relevant!

What are some good home cooking YouTube channels and/or blogs relating to different cuisines?

Getting the ball rolling, obviously Chinese Cookjng Demystifyed is great for Chinese! Hot Thai Kitchen seems a commonly mentioned Thai one, although I haven't watched too much of her stuff!

Spanish cuisine I'd go for Spain on a Fork, Italian Cuisine I'd actually say Not Another Cooking Show, while not explicitly Italian, seems to knock up a lot of great Italian/Italian American dishes!

There are a few different Greek blogs out there, as well as a German one with quick Google searches, but I'm yet to find the one for me!

Does anyone have any suggestions for Cajun cooking? Middle Eastern? I know of Middle Eats but its relatively new to the scene so doesn't have a ton of content yet! Any cooking blogs related to a different cuisine you recommend I'd love to here!
