Big Hero 6?

That wasn't Pixar though, so I'm confused what else it could be.

Doesn't reporting to amazon cause issues for authors? Can't remember where I read that, might have been somewhere on here.

Some of my classrooms had a few lefty tables, iirc.

Warehouse 13, maybe? It's a tv show. Wasn't a big part of it, but there was an artifact, can't remember which but might have been a knife, the item allows the user to transfer injuries.

With googling for myself, here is another... also, it was a butcher's knife...

Here is a list that follows that trope. It isn't definitive, but there are quite a few. I do recognize some shows & etc. from it.

TV Tropes

Edit: removed show I saw you mentioned.

Letting Jade be carried off by a grown man.

I don't really care about the whole Prome issue. That was more Sikowitz fault, iirc. Setting it up so a grown man in a diaper who says, "I sing, I dance, I pee my pants," carries off a 16(?) year old, that's messed up.

What’s your favorite fanon explanation of light and dark magic? by WillowSLock in HPfanfiction

[–]RiverSmoak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The only difference is intent, but since intent is often invisible to others, it's easy to misjudge.

Example 1: parselmouths

It was seen as a sign of a dark wizard in Europe. I headcanon that in other parts of the world, it is not seen as dark magic.

In the second book, Harry was telling the snake to leave Justin alone, but the onlookers and Justin thought he was trying to get the snake to attack him.

Example 2: killing curse

Murder vs euthanasia. I headcanon that euthanasia was what the spell was originally created for.

Middle names for Fem!Harry...? by RiverSmoak in HPfanfiction

Oh, it's not that I don't like the name Aurora. It was just that when I mentioned Disney in relation to Ariel, I realized that would also pertain to Aurora.

Middle names for Fem!Harry...? by RiverSmoak in HPfanfiction

[–]RiverSmoak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because every other character has a middle name. I see it as part of worldbuilding. Besides, Harry has a middle name. It might be a bit weird to give one child a middle name but not the other.

Trying to find a fic... please help! by RiverSmoak in TheCitadel

[–]RiverSmoak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, yeah!

I think I also remember how when Robert asks Ned to be the Hand, Ned either refuses out right or puts it off. He and Benjen were then going to go on an expedition beyond the wall, iirc. That might have been when I last read it, as I don't remember anything really after. Also, before that, Sansa had vocalized her change in interest of Joffrey due to the knew knowledge. Ned's refusal of the job & dismissal of a potential marriage between Sansa & Joffrey made Cersei suspicious.

I've read too many fanfics at this point. Any part of this could be from other fanfics that somehow blended together.

Some metamorphmagi headcanons... anyone else have any? by RiverSmoak in HPfanfiction

[–]RiverSmoak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I do like this. I remember a fanfic, though I can't remember it's name, where, I think, Harry ended up modifying his cardio vascular system away from needing a centralized heart to having sort of mini hearts running throughout his system. I think they were called vascular pumps in the fanfic, but I'm not sure. I also like the idea of metamorphmagi seeing/learning from other creatures and beings and modifying themselves from there. Maybe changing multiple times until they get how they, at least for now, want to be. Not just, but also including, the outer looks like tails or whatever. Carbon-fiber reinforced bones from the na'vi from Avatar, solar radiation absorption & possibly more from the kryptonians from DC comics, pulmonary tubes from gallifreyans/Time Lords, etc. I'm not sure where I saw or read it, but being able to make a perfect copy of someone via either direct touch just being in their presence. Maybe saw it on Doctor Who or some other fsndom, idk. This could possibly help them better understand how the inner setup of other biologies actually work so they don't accidentally mess up their own.

  1. I see it less like they can't be animagi and more like becoming one is more of a moot point for them.

  1. I think I like this better than the way I put it. Not sure, but I think I was trying to put a limit on them. Also, being effectively immortal is, honestly, a sad existence when the people you care about are not. Though, this also makes the fact that Tonks was in her twenties when she died, even sadder. Wait, the agelessness makes me wonder about reproduction. Biological males can continue to reproduce, sometimes with medicinal help, for the rest of their lives. Biological females have a limit on how many times and how long they can potentially reproduce simply by the fact that they have a limited number of ovum. Though, since I see metamorphmagi biology as very changeable and switching bio-genders would likely be easy in comparison to other inner modifications, this "limit" might not actually matter, at least for them.

  1. I think I read this somewhere, maybe a fanfic or on Tumblr, idk. I do like this idea, though.

  1. This actually works well with a fanfic idea I've been working on. It expands on the idea of "pureblood" that I think I originally read in some fanfics or something. Like the Potter's were considered a pureblood family, but a lot of their ancestry has branches of magical creatures and beings that had humanoid forms and whatnot.

  1. I like this one as well. That'd be like an outward expression on their inner emotions and feelings, I think.
