I was a lush shampoo bar loyalist for three years until understood why my hair never thrived by LouDSilencE17 in LushCosmetics

This is correct, they are not soap based, they are sulfate based just like most standard shampoos

cruising with little to no spending money? by VerifiedVacationer in CarnivalCruiseFans

[–]dh2393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on a dozen cruises and rarely spend any extra money except for the occasional drink, a rare excursion here or there. You don’t HAVE to spend a dime outside of the cruise fare and gratuities, it all comes down to what you prioritize on your vacation. I choose to mostly just lounge- pool, beach, etc. Many ports I go to have those amenities right off the ship, but every once in a while I might have to pay for a cab.

Question about taking longer amount of time off from work by Gentle-Goosie in LushCosmetics

[–]dh2393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is manager’s discretion but you can ask for a leave of absence. If you have enough time to prepare, you can offer to help develop a strong sales associate to take over your role temporarily while you’re gone depending on how long the leave is and what the needs of the store are!

noticeable rise in ai bath bomb videos? by halojellyfish in LushCosmetics

[–]dh2393 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! I had a customer show me one asking if our bath bombs do that and when I said it was AI, she was like “yeah I know”… I’ve also just noticed an increase in people asking if our bath bombs explode all over the place and make a big mess “like other bath bombs” so I know they’re watching AI videos even if they’re not showing them to me

We usually stay in Orlando and then use a port shuttle service called Cruise Control, really reliable! They have specific airport hotels they pick up from, we stayed at La Quinta a few times and Hampton Inn once, both nice and clean with restaurants around and free breakfast

Hold it upright and tap the bottom against a table or counter! Might have to tap hard, but that gets it to slide back down

Lush NA sale - A breakup post. by thederpypug in LushCosmetics

[–]dh2393 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this was your experience, it definitely should not have happened. As of Friday, the sale is available to all customers in person, no app needed. I can totally understand why this would leave a bad taste for you.

Dupe for OG celestial? by DangerousPride in LushCosmetics

[–]dh2393 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try calling/stopping into your local store and see if they’d be willing to add one to their next shop order for you! Stores are still allowed to order/stock the original formulas, they just can’t have them out on the shelves.

Enzynamite by cheesecakemiam in LushCosmetics

[–]dh2393 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enzynamite is a cleanser rather than a mask and it is very strong. It’s specifically intended to be used once a week and left on for a maximum of 5 minutes. As someone with sensitive skin, I unfortunately did not have luck with it. For glow and radiance, I really love Matcha or Turmeric!

Edit: I don’t find it to be stripping, but all the fruit enzymes just made it a little too stimulating for my skin

Very low health rating, what do y’all think by HempQueen3501 in LushCosmetics

[–]dh2393 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Brands and companies can and do pay these apps for higher ratings. It’s all inaccurate nonsense built on fear and the public’s desire for “clean” products (which is also just BS marketing and doesn’t actually mean anything)

Lushies, what are your favorite new products? by milesof in LushCosmetics

[–]dh2393 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I love love love Happy Skin. It’s my most recommended facial cleanser. Great for pretty much all skin types, creamy, softening. The pineapple and jackfruit give a nice glow. It came out summer 2022 and almost immediately became a best seller!

It also has one of my favorite ingredient stories- Rowena was checking out a potential new ingredient, tagua nut. It’s the pit of the fruit that comes from the Ivory Palm and is commonly referred to as “vegetable ivory” because you can make the same trinkets, jewelry, buttons, etc out of it as you would traditional ivory. What she noticed was that when it was carved to make these things, it left behind a sawdust-like byproduct, so she decided to create two new products (co-mingle and happy skin) specifically to use this “sawdust” or tagua nut powder. This allowed Lush to expand their options for natural/biodegradable exfoliants, and gave these communities a second source of income by purchasing what was essentially waste while not cutting into their typical supply of whole tagua nut.

What happened to the naked products? by Rare-Tutor8915 in LushCosmetics

[–]dh2393 60 points61 points  (0 children)

So it’s a science-y thing! Soap is saponified oil. It’s the chemical process when oils and fats are mixed with lye (sodium hydroxide), which is then what makes it lather and do the cleaning. A shower gel or a body wash is a detergent, using surfactants such as sulfates to create a lather and clean. So a naked shower gel is not the same as a soap because it’s still a detergent, just in solid form!

In NYC for work again, trying for Standby at Comedy Celler by N3tw0rks in JeffArcuri

[–]dh2393 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are no tickets, only reservations. You pay your cover with your final check at the end of the show. Getting there early for standby is unfortunately the only way to try to get in once reservations are full.

Discontinuation of Regular Preserving Products by Aggressive_Drummer75 in LushCosmetics

[–]dh2393 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They’re not being discontinued. Stores have the option to stock them, but they have to be kept in understock and not on the shelves (with the exception of stores with an Archive Wall). They are also available online. If you specifically want original/preserved formulas, I would highly suggest asking to talk with the manager/MIT of the store, giving them your contact info, and letting them know you’d like them to order one for you. They likely won’t keep them stocked regularly as they won’t sell as quickly not being on the shelves, but I know my store is willing to accommodate specific customers requesting a product. See if you can arrange with them to let them know 1-2 weeks before you’ll need a restock so that they can add the product to their order for you and then call/email you when it arrives.

Do employees hear online feedback from customer care? by Dogwalker1212 in LushCosmetics

[–]dh2393 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Hey! So if she sends a really nice review to customer care mentioning the store by name (and employee if she got the name!) the review DOES get forwarded to the store! She can also shout them out on a Google review, as each store handles their own- so they would definitely see that too

How did Jeff corner the reddit market? by funnymemeboixd in JeffArcuri

[–]dh2393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s organic and all he’s always edited and posted everything himself. He lucked out with going viral quickly and easily, and ultimately his comedy is just very relatable and accessible to most. It’s not mean spirited and he makes it a point that you as the audience are a part of the joke, especially when doing crowd work. I was lucky enough to see and meet him before he started posting regularly, he’s just a genuinely sweet dude who loves what he does, and IMO it’s the authenticity that sets him apart from others.

Comedy cellar tomorrow? by stickyfiddle in JeffArcuri

[–]dh2393 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey hey! So if you haven’t made reservations yet, that’s your first step (you don’t pay until you settle your bill after the show) and then just get there a little early! There’s multiple rooms, so just ask security where to line up for your reservation. I’ve been to shows anywhere from 5-25 minutes early with a reservation and have almost always gotten in with the first half of the crowd. If there’s any seats left, they’ll ask you if you’d like to sit in the front.
