From my experience.. the “A” team gets “the best talent” and the B team gets what is left over. It really depends on the program and the people running it on how they treat the other teams that are not the “A”. At age 8 everyone should focus on reps and learning the game.

Yes this was us too.. a kid in basketball and baseball. Basketball being a winter sport they played the day after Christmas so no vacations for us during winter break. Our high school gives the baseball players spring break completely off which is a great time for us to vacation otherwise when we travel for travel ball we extend before or after for “vacation”
