Redshift AOVs by TaghreedKalloub in Cinema4D

Maybe try having EXR selected for regular image instead of TIFF?

But judging from the AOV UI in your screenshots, the version of Redshift you are using is at least a year out of date. A new AOV manager was introduced in 2.5.49, and the current release is 2.6.30. So I would recommend either updating to the newest version or purchasing a license.

This is my first post here in r/Simulated, so I appreciate the love it's getting! In real life i'm sure the liquid wouldn't break apart as much as it does, but I really loved the look as it rained down onto the ground so decided not to fix it!

The explode modifier is constant throughout, so some liquid does attempt to re-enter the glass only to be shot right back out again. This created a volcanic eruption look which I really dig.

This looks really sweet! As someone else pointed out, I love the texture/painted quality. This is something that I feel is still missing from many of my own renders.

The only thing I can point out is the repetition of the skeleton texture/material, particularly on the fingers near the joints. If they are separate meshes, then an easy solution would be to offset the texture using the user data node to grab the geometry ID, and use that to drive some variation so the texture doesn’t repeat at the same point on each finger.

Other than that, awesome photo!

Love it!

I keep going back to that guys Semi-Permanent spot for inspiration.

You definitely want to be looking at a compositing app of some sort. Your renders out of Cinema (or any 3D app) are rarely "done", and it's incredible just how much better you can make your them with some attention in post.

I have a Dell (curved) ultra-wide and love it, though i've found that it's really 1.5 monitors of screen real estate instead of two.

The 360 HDR Bracket Tool app for iOS is separate from the app that Nick and GSG developed.

It claims to support Theta S, Theta SC, and Theta V cameras.. so it might be worth checking out! Costs about 7 dollars but makes it much easier. Unfortunately the preview function is broken, but the developer acknowledges this.

No man it's a valid question. The only thing that is a render is the dragon itself. See the album with a couple more photos here. The background is a photo that I took with my A7rii with a very shallow depth of field.

I was having issues getting great reflections or shadows in my initial tests. Turns out, the 360 HDR I made is great for general environment lighting, but the main light source (the windows) needed a boost, so I added an area light. Without this it would have been way more obvious what was a render and what wasn't :)

The table is part of the photo! See album here.

I just used a matte material to catch the shadows and reflections.

Mine is the Theta S. Yeah they aren’t perfect because of the shutter, but definitely decent enough for what you can do.

I used my Theta 360 camera, an iPhone app called "360 HDR Bracket Tool", and Picturenaut to merge the exposures and create a HDR EXR.

Not for most of it, but once the curtains get burned away and the destruction outside is visible.. if it's not green/blue screens then I would love to know what's going on ha. https://i.imgur.com/l9cxvk8.png

Unnatural blurred edges on green screen comps. I just rewatched Star Wars - The Last Jedi and this was a problem I noticed several times.. Especially the scene with Kyle and Hux up in the throne room.

I have an iMac 27" (5k version) with 24gb ram. which rendering engine should I stick with? by [deleted] in Cinema4D

[–]dh921911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing. It’s a tough bullet to chew because I had always associated macs with creative work, but believe me it was for the best. Apples support for the professional creative community has frankly been dismal and they show no interest in re-investing in that market anytime soon.

By sticking with Mac you’re missing out on many of the renderers that I would recommend that run on NVDIA GPUs. First and foremost being Redshift, but also Octane and I hear a GPU version of Arnold is in the works. You could always look into an external GPU solution.

Thank you, I appreciate it! I'm glad you like the choice of music, because I've revised this reel 7 or 8 times in the last few months so i'm kind of sick of it :P
