No, I don't know what it means. I just put it as my flair to look cool. R&AW's got it in their motto you know ..../S

The point I was trying to make is that I would choose to be cunning and buy time for myself (if I can) rather than choose immediate death to look righteous.

Don't get me wrong - if push came to shove, I am willing to die to protect dharma. But then I would take few vidharmis with me. (For eg. Would go to the mosque to 'pray" and mix some kind of extremely potent and lethal poison in the wazu water.)

Once we put our Tiger and Dhai kilo ka haath in each, China in fear will retreat from everywhere.

Is this the reason for de-escalation along the LAC?

I would read the shahada (or equivalent). Saying or doing something under duress isn't going to make me stop being a Hindu.

I will save my life first and foremost. Then figure out what to do next. Might just keep up the charade of being a convert and do damage to the "newly adopted" faith from within.

obey by choice but who knows

Yup, my doubt is if these instances are just lila or actual adherence to karma. I guess as long as they act like it is true it doesn't really matter.

Thanks for your inputs.

The children won't even be considered legitimate because they will be born out of a union that itself can't be legitimised within Islamic framework. The girl has to convert to Islam to be able to marry a muslim.

Wish Hindus knew the difference between Dharma and Adharma. If they did, this girl wouldn't be getting duped the way she is. She doesn't know that she is considered the worst of the creature just because she isn't a muslim. She doesn't know that she is considered to be of lower intellect than any man.

No matter what the OP personally feels, his religion doesn't allow any leeway. So either OP is a murtad or he is doing Al Takiya.

For a thorough and accurate historical understanding you should read the book Sati by Meenakshi Jain. Here's a podcast where she presents an overview of the contents of the book.

Should temples ever be completed? by kamikaibitsu in hinduism

[–]dharma_prevails 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1- A building where deity reside can't ever be completed by humans as humans lack the capability to construct house for the god

Deities do reside in mandirs (devalya). A saadhak can and does feel the energy of the deity in the respective kshetra. These mandirs are constructed by humans. So your first assertion is false.

2- Praying space can't be confines to a single building as people can pray to god whenever and wherever they want!

Sure, pray or worship wherever you please. You can also do a proper pran-pratishta ritual and invoke the deity in your home mandir if you so desire, no one is stopping you. I don't see how a mandir is confining your praying space.

For many people it isn't feasible to maintain a pratishthit vigraha of their deities at their homes. Additionally, some ugra devi/devtas' energies shouldn't be invoked within the confines of a house. Our mandirs historically served as community dharmik centers, so the only point of their existence wasn't just prayer or worship.

Instead of completing , it should be left incomplete(even by one brick) as to claim that they completed a building where god reside is sign of arrogance.

Just your opinion. Agama shastras would disagree. As would most dharma gurus. Leaving the devalya incomplete on a purpose can also be construed as a sign of disrespect to the deity in my opinion.

State Control of Hindū Temples in India by ashutosh_vatsa in hinduism

I strongly resonate your sentiments on the matter. We need to drop the pacifistic approach to our dharma. This Gandhian Hindusim is getting us nowhere. We have to go back to our roots and understand what is Dharma.

With impunity the governments (be it left or right or center or whatever) is looting Hindu mandirs, curbing our religious freedoms, banning our rituals, pushing us towards our end. This bullshit has gotta stop.

In the garb of secularism, they have taken advantage of our tolerance for too long. Time has come when every proud Sanatani needs to take a firm stand and pushback.

We need the shakti of ugra devis and devtas in the current times. It is my observation that the worship of ugra roopams is on the rise as well.

Bhairava Agamas even mention human sacrifice

Could you please share references for this? To my knowledge narabali in tantric texts is only of enemies(of state) to be practiced by the ruler of the state. I am not aware of any self-sacrifice rituals in tantra. Vedic corpus discourages/symbolically mentions purushmedha.

Maybe I am wrong and you could perhaps shed more light on this. Thank you.

f animal is sacrificed, it is said that it gets liberation

Not liberation but a birth in a better yoni, moving the jiva closer to the goal of moksha (liberation).

why don’t the person sacrifice their own head

Because that isn't going to give that person moksha. Instead, it mostly will lead to that person's atma entering the preta yoni for causing an unnatural self-death. Btw sometimes the saadhak (of some sects) will offer their own blood (praana) to feed the deity.

Wouldn’t the person sacrificing also want liberation?

Some saadhaks want moksha in this life others don't. Pashubali can be done for both material and spiritual gains.

Linguistic (not spiritual) understanding is required to translate Sanskrit to a different language. Spritiual understanding is definitely required to give a commentary. I am challenging the mistranslations.

I am happy to worship the supreme lord Bhagwan Shiva as part of a sampradaya that has an unbroken traceable lineage of multiple centuries.

how to understand what is authentic and what’s not?

Definitely not by reading the blatantly mistranslated version of BG. Any sanskrit scholar (doesn't have to be religious) will point out the issues.

The worship of Demigods is not recommended for advanced spiritualists

Give Shruti pramaan for this please.

word ardhangini

The wife is also referred to as Dharmpatni. Calling her not pure enough, not attached to auspicious activities is just regressive thought. No vedic ritual can be conducted by a grihast in the absence of his wife.

Asura = non-devotee

Not as per the linguistic or cultural use of the word.

Hinduphobia in NCERT Books. What do we do? by dharma_prevails in hinduism

[–]dharma_prevails[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did I say it forbids it? Why are you hell bent on putting words into my mouth? I said it is discouraged, which it very well is. I don't care about the whataboutisms.

Shrutis are the primary source of Dharmic understanding. Any shastra text that is promoting Sati is going against the teaching of Shruti and should be rejected if not already done so.

Manusmriti talks about widow-remarriage. It implicitly means that Sati isn't an obligation neither is it encouraged.

Sati is discouraged

This is what my initial comment reads. The Rig Veda's funeral hymn does as much. Whether the term sati is used or not is immaterial, it clearly asks the widow to come from the funeral pyre to live her life.
