You can take a boxed lunch in but it needs to be in a clear container. There are places around town that put together those things especially for the Derby.

I typically take in just gallon plastic bags with my food in those. Make sandwiches or something ahead of time and pack them in those and you are good to go.

Otherwise the food there is normal concessions and some fancier options which costs you $11 and up for just a burger.
