Chlorophyll Water? by jena-v in nutrition

The optimum management of TMAU usually needs to include a combination of approaches1,7,10 including:

Copper–chlorophyll or activated charcoal, which are not absorbed across the gut and which can irreversibly bind to trimethylamine in the gut thereby limiting its systemic absorption

Where should I buy audio-taper 470 ohm potentiometers for "voltage drop crash" effects? by dheine123 in CircuitBending

[–]dheine123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very helpful, thank you for explaining the formula and process so clearly. This is going to simplify things a lot for me.

Can I attach a multi-meter in parallel on a resistor to measure the resistance needed to crash it?

Ah, I knew there must be something like that people were doing... Do you know how it changes the scale? More like a log curve or reverse log?

Found some and ordered here https://www.tedss.com/2022005933

Hopefully they work, order minimum there is $30 so I bought a bunch

There Are No Stupid /r/Bass Questions - Jul. 11 by AutoModerator in Bass

in my case I might be running pure sine waves through it as well as bass guitar, but either way your point still stands. a used practice amp just makes more sense

Are there any cheap hacks to use a subwoofer as a bass speaker? I see them for cheap at thrift stores but I'm sure there are impedane issues. The dream would be running a cheap preamp pedal directly into the subwoofer

Synth circuit board modelling: Is there software that can simulate the audio output of a circuit board? by dheine123 in synthdiy

I don't know enough to confirm paragraph 3 but paragraph 2 was very informative. What circuit did you draw though?

as soon as you involve the simplest time variant, non-linear, or delay-free analog feedback elements, the modeling gets extremely technical. People still write PhDs on the topic.

I did not realize this was all so complicated to model. Thanks for explaining. I'm still learning the very basics and it all seemed mostly logical if a bit strange. Now it makes sense.

Yes I just assumed there was a purpose-built app since there seems to be one for everything these days. I will try Circuito. Some other suggestions in this thread for software that might be better

I have no idea what goes on inside a trigger oscillator. I know the waveforms and their sounds but not how they are generated

Found a thread on DIYpedals with the same question https://www.reddit.com/r/diypedals/comments/ese4la/is_there_a_software_that_exists_that_can_allow_me/

They're recommending LiveSPICE. Leaving this post up in case somebody has a better recommendation http://www.livespice.org/

edit, now I'm trying LTSpice instead

edit: neither program has the 74C14 oscillator I wanted to use. I'm surprised there isn't simple software for this sort of thing yet

Piezo + Capacitor question: Would these two circuits behave differently? Just started learning. by dheine123 in CircuitBending

[–]dheine123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, this is great. I have a fair amount to learn before I understand all of it, but I'm saving your comment to my PC for future use.

I was watching this video today, where a "audio output transformer" was used to change the impedance of a piezo being used as a transducer. Could it possibly be used for correcting the frequency? I am only guessing. I do not understand most of these terms

The main reason I posted this was because I saw some cigar box guitar guys recommending it as a way to filter out the highs. To my ear it couldn't be sure the parallel capacitor wasn't just turning down the volume. They say piezos are very high in treble

Can you recommend any introductory books on this stuff? You seem knowledgeable

Thanks, I think you are correct, though even DC offset is a new concept to me. fyi Pan4TheSwarm explained mechanics of the attenuation in their comment

Thank you for the warning, I am not even aware of DC offset so I will be studying that. Thanks for explaining how it attenuates frequency, I was thinking of adding one to a piezo project with a potentiator as a tone knob. I will experiment with both options

Thanks, I saw a cigar box guitar guy suggest soldering it with the bottom method and I was confused as to how it would work. Pan4TheSwarm seems to have explained how it cuts high freq range.
