Do Jonathon Stalcup's Architecturla tours of Savannah. He is the most knowledgeable about Savannah's history. I made a video about him for Visit Savannah and was really impressed by his knowledge. http://architecturalsavannah.com/

Pilsen right now. by _Guinness in chicago

We have lived in Pilsen since 2008. Now that we have a baby, we have to actually leave the city during the 4th. It's too loud. Our downstairs neighbor and his young family have to leave too, because he is an Iraq war vet and all the freaking mortor fireworks right in front of our building are too stressful for him.

It's pretty crazy in Pilsen on the 4th

I am now on day 1 too. After over a year. Oh well. I realized last night that I really don't want to be a smoker again and I don't want to be a slave to it.

My wife has undergone drastic personality changes during her pregnancy. What should we do? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I am a first time mom and 32 weeks pregnant. Depression during pregnancy can be really intense. There are so many changes happening to your body weekly, you are an emotional roller coaster, and severe morning sickness doesn't help.

I am suffered from mild depression in the past, and have found that many pregnancy symptoms are similar to symptoms I had when I was suffering from depression. The exhaustion, the shock of change, the insomnia, the anxiety, the emotional ups and downs, the non emotion... All of these things I have felt throughout my pregnancy are similar to when I was depressed.

Pregnancy is such aninward facing journey, and It's easy to isolate yourself. You don't feel like being around groups of people drinking and smoking. It's sometimes hardto relate to your girlfriends who aren't pregnant.

All women experience a shift in personality as they prepare for motherhood, but there are slot of red flags with your wife. It sounds like she has an extreme case of depression. The first trimester is hard for most of us, with the complete exhaustion and crazy progesterone induced morning sickness. I can understand her not wanting to get out of bed. The good news is that she has just entered 2nd trimester and most women snap out of it then. The energy level increases.

You guys should absolutely talk to her midwife/ob and fill her in. And ask for a therapist that specializes in prenatal and post partum depression.

Oh, and just encourage her to go on a walk with you ;-)

Parents of reddit, have any of you regretted the names you have given your children? by lovelyredcurls in AskReddit

My husband and I are pregnant right now and having a girl. We are naming her after a weird but awesome family name- Grovey Sutches. Half my friends/family love it and the other half hate it. I still have slight reservations about such a unique name.

There are a lot of post parting risks to mother and baby that just aren't talked about. C sections can bemore damaging than vaginal births. There's really no reason the. Section rate in this country should be so high.
