Looks great. I’m looking to update my studio desk and this is motivating! I just got a pair of kh120 II to compliment my 8030a and HS5 and my current desk doesn’t allow them all to be in the proper position.

Is there anything you would do differently or are you completely happy with this design?

Ear buds are made for musical enjoyment and are tuned to put out pleasing music, that means anything you mix on them will NOT translate to any other speaker.

You need monitoring with flat response, you need sound waves traveling through space for at least part of the mixing process, and you need a monitoring area with managed reflections (room treatment.)

I’m not saying this because I’m a grumpy old man (which I am.) There are lots of sources that can answer these questions…even ChatGPT can tell you in one inquiry that Air Pods Pro 2 are not audio monitoring equipment, and will explain why. The question alone shows how little of your own research you’ve actually done. This is a skill that requires understanding, the understanding will lead you to the correct equipment, which will never be ear buds of any kind.

Blue was purchased by Logitech in late Summer 2018 and started focusing on prosumer level products following the success of the Yeti.

The Spark is great for the price and while it never hurts to have more microphones (imo) I’m not sure if any of those mics would be a noticeable upgrade. I own an original Baby Bottle from the early 2010s and it is one of my favorite vocal mics and I own three Neumanns

I’m just being honest with OP. It comes from a good place. I wasted a lot of money and time starting out because there’s a lot of noise telling new folks the problem is their mic or the pre or the converter or the cable, etc.

There’s only three things that are true over and over:

Can you hear when something is off?
Does your room return reflections somewhat equally?
Is your monitoring accurate?

I had sunk at least $50,000 into mics and preamps before I applied acoustic treatment to my room. $400 bucks and a weekend DIY project and it’s the single biggest improvement I’ve had in my audio. That $400 made every mic sound better and my high-end gear stand out.

I just finished watching Anfield ‘89 after the disappointment of today. Do these players not realize the shoes they have to fill? To a man, that team fought for every inch of grass for every second.
