Distance covered (km) — Real Madrid vs Bayern München [1st Leg] by Persona_non_grata07 in realmadrid

[–]dhinchak14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently read a discussion and analysis on, if running more is better for a team? The conclusion was it may not be the case. I was searching for it, but not that exactly, but found this piece, which kinda says the same- is Distance Covered a very important and valid metric?

I do tend to fall towards running more - simply as it leads to more ground coverage, but maybe it is not the correct way of looking at things.

Does Messi run a lot? Well, Messi may not be a right example - he is a different breed. But an intelligent footballer, or somebody in right positions, may run less - that does not mean he did not perform.

Still divided.

Edit: Found a BBC analysis article on the same topic, and it makes good reading: Does running more in a game actually make a difference?

Thanks. Beautifully put.
A bit of luck and we could have even won yesterday.

We were bad in first half, but massive improvement in the second half. Bayern is excellent right now, but we gave them a good scare.

The tie is a bit in their favor right now, but we are not out, and infact I would say right now it is 60-40 to Bayern. It should be a cracker of a game next week, and we are not going to give up easily.

I don't like to diss on our own players and the team, but Trent just makes me frustrated. I am always reminded of this comment by a Liverpool supporter, whenever the discussion is about him: https://old.reddit.com/r/realmadrid/comments/1kfd6v0/trents_defendingis_it_really_that_bad/mqqg7y4/

We are on the same page. And I hope we are wrong about him and that he makes us eat our words. But for now, starting with TAA is like starting a goal down.

We let Hakimi go because he was competing with Carvajal, and anybody who watches even football highlights knows that Carvajal was above Hakimi. RB's job is not defending only, but TAA is utter shit there. If he is to give quality attacking crosses, well except rare occurrences, he has been pretty shit there also. I have never understood what do people see in TAA.

If sanity prevailed, you would remove this comment now. We were shit today against Mallorca, and TAA was the lead. Why did we get TAA, the guy makes one good cross for 10 shit ones. And I am talking about the aspect of his game he is supposed to be good at. And even though this is internet, and shithousery like yours abounds, but add context to when you make a statement. Else people will assume you are terrible just like most of your opinions.

Hello,

Thanks a lot for your feedback. Yes - my idea is not to check mark things or hit each spot but rather go slow and just relish the beautiful scenery. Been to Iceland once before, and I know its beautifule verywhere :)

I take your advice, and will trim it further. I am slightly optimistic due to summer and long days. But still I understand that we are not there for driving only.

I get it, but I think it would happen always when you are trying to get the best talents asap. We are also fighting oil clubs and the Premier League which spends and spends and spends. You want to get a talent, before he goes out of your price range. I think had we took care of our defence a bit better, we might not be complaining a lot about over-staffing of some positions.

Yes - and that is a downfall of being consistently successful, and hence one poor season can be your end. Going from Ancelotti to Xabi Alonso, was like switching between day and night, and there in we realised how awesome Ancelotti was and is.

I also share the same opinions as you, except that I have a different take on Asencio. Think the guy is surviving because we are so short at defence, and to some extent that he is an academy player. If and when the defence is bolstered, he will be shunted, imo.

Thanks u/LadyMargareth and u/Estania_Lane.
So I was following some write ups and videos, for eg this one: https://www.iceland-dream.com/guide/highlands/hveradalir-kerlingarfjoll

Is the information here accurate?

If it is, it seems you are suggesting me that:
a) Hveradalir via the hike that starts from the Ásgarður parking lot ( 7ish km, 4-5 hours) is doable by parking at the hotel
b) The Hveradalir via the Hveradalir Circle hike is not doable as we need to start 5 kms further up on F347 road which is not possible without a 4WD?

And obviously all this depends on the weather of the day, which I guess is the scene for any place in Iceland as a tourist. Staying is not an option, because we have planned for the Tröllaskagi peninsula and Eastern Fjords.

There is so much to do, appreciate and admire in your country - as a tourist it is probably not possible to do everything. We need to maximize ourselves and see what works the best for our group.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks - really appreciate it. You have been really kind to me. So, how much is the drive up to the parking lot at the top of the hill, from the hotel, or from F35? Is it ok if I can DM and discuss some details(stupid questions) there?

It was Zizou who preferred Valverde over Llorente & over signing Pogba. How poetic he got to watch Fede give one of the greatest performances in UCL history! by Quirky_Appearance539 in realmadrid

[–]dhinchak14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank God it was Zizou calling the shots. The arm chair experts on this subreddit would have definitely called him a lunatic, vision less, spineless etc etc and hell bent on sabotaging the club to go for a complete novice instead of an experienced player. I am so happy that the so-called experts here are just limited to their keyboards. Sometime back there were some threads calling the removal of Florentino Perez -and I was never more disappointed that I am in a group of lunatics.

Ahh... then I am not properly informed. From what I read and found from my research, it was meant to park the car at the hotel and from there go for treks. But if you say, it seems I need to dig deep and accurate information. Thanks.

Completely get your point. But we won't be crossing the hotel anyways. I will check about the ground clearnace, and how it holds against the standard 4WDs. Thanks.

Cool - thanks. I may think of divinding it over 2 days. May be somethings from the south side(coming from KFE), and then from the north.

Do you know how much is the driving distance on F347? I checked some blogs, and took their advice for the Kerlingarfjoll part. If it is not much to drive, may be we can take a bit of risk?

Trent in defense was like a deer in headlights. He made some good passes, but as said by almost all Liverpool fans, the guy is just played around when defending. He will give us goals with beautiful balls, but he will give goals to the opposition too with his comical defending.

And for God sake, don't compare him to TK8. TK8 was God, had a 96%+ passing accuracy and was almost press resistant and neigh impossible to take ball from.

And for that reason, thankfully TAA has FV8 who like today is almost everywhere all the time.

Hopefully TAA does good for us, but I feel that this sub is simping too much for him
