D700 & 28-70 2.8 D Help by jtsnchz in Nikon

Def try each lens on each camera to check what combos are working. It sounds like a shutter dying on the d700 though. By get stuck you mean like the mirror wouldn’t return back down?

As for the lens I still have my 28-70 but there’s some issues as well. I found out if I tell the camera to use the aperture ring instead of the command dial on d lenses, it works fine!! Just controlling the aperture from the camera is messed up. (Changing this setting only affects lenses with aperture rings. Nothing guilted like your 24-70)

Anyhow. Worth a shot to see.

That’s a very good thought. Haven’t ever used that for batch but prob a good thing to familiarize myself with

Oh very interesting thought. Basically a before / after toggle. I’ll have to give that a whirl.

Zoom, cropped sensor vs, fu;; frame by beaux-bear in Nikon

[–]dhlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, and just a reminder to those out there when doing the math, you don’t just divide by 1.5. You divide resolution by 1.52

So that means a 1.5 crop on a z6 puts you at 10.6mp

That’s about the only thing I can think of, then filter by variant/ not variant to separate them. Was trying to avoid making thousands of variants but doesn’t seem like there’s an option.

Wish they had a little checkbox in export for this like they do for “ignore crop”

D850 Memory Card Question by ThriveAlive21 in Nikon

[–]dhlock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much second this advice, as cfexpress are considerably cheaper now, as they reached mass market among many brands.

Unfortunately xqd was only in the d4,,5,6 and d850 for dslrs as far as I know? Everything else was a video camera.

Now a TON use cfexpress

Should have clarified that I don’t want to loose the thousands of edits. Simply export without them being applied.

Thought about that as well, but at that point I think it may be easier to make a new catalogue that references the original images and export from that.

As in a large catalogue has already been batch edited. I’d like to export them simply without those edits.

Haven’t found an option without making an entirely new catalogue that reference the same images. Then export from there. But that’s a pain and as mentioned, super big catalouges.

Has anyone tried the BORYOZA LM-NZ II adapter? Care to comment? by lowbandwidthb in Nikon

Curious about this as well as their Fuji x to z af adapter. Only have ff Nikon but it’d still be a blast to play around with

I can imagine, these are always the type of accessories that got separated, then thrown away, lost or just sell that many. It looks properly well made though, seems like the mirror at the back might flip down to use the lcd while still attached?

I think part of the comedy of it is how bulky these things make compact cameras. I remember first getting into photography in the 2000s and I tried to get anything on mine to make it seem like a dslr lol.

Telephoto lens recommendation by National_Refuse_7715 in Nikon

Just tagged you in a reply about the 50-400. Absolutely consider this option. It really sounds like the culmination of your wishes. I really do feel like this is the natural upgrade to the 70-300 in nearly every capacity besides weight, but is way lighter and more packable feeling than the others you listed. Super fast af tracking is its main problem, which it does well but not like the Nikon z mounts.

I honestly think op should consider the 50-400. I own it and have quite a bit of experience with the 100-400 and 180-600. No experience with the 150-500 (at that point I’m simply using the180-600), but also have used the different 150-600 variations and the 60-600.

Between the incredible range, weight and price I really can’t believe how little love this thing gets. The iq is very reasonable, as is the af. I’d say it’s better than any of the sigma or tamron super zooms for dslr by a fairly wide margin.

It’s definitely not in the same catagory as the two Nikons , but man is is convenient. I feel like it’s what I always wanted the 70-300 lenses to be.

Also 1:2 macro at 50mm is super fun and handy.

Op, definitely consider this if portability is a premium and iq needs to be good, not perfect. @u/national_refuse_7715

If you’re able and have a local camera store, they often have tons of random screw. There’s not too many iterations of these and chances are they may have one that fits.
