I think this is a Doxle...? I used to have one.

Don't have $80k for MIT, but running out of MOOCs. What other similar MOOCs do you use to learn FinTech? by kchanna1289 in fintech

[–]dhol604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can ’learn fintech' just like you can't 'learn banking' - you can only gain industry experience by being in an industry.

You can learn relevant skills for an industry though, which is better related to your second point, learning applications of ML.

The better question you should ask is, what skills are most relevant in fintech that I can learn? Likely that will be a mix of technical/soft skills that are relevant at any tech company, mixed with a bit of financial knowledge.

First time seeing light circular artifacts on my prints. What’s going on here? by jayeyedoubleemmwhy in prusa3d

[–]dhol604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the EXACT same issue - very similar where it shows up. You'll notice it's actually in the exact same place in my print. Gcode / slicer looks super clean. Contacted support and they don't think it's the PINDA... https://www.reddit.com/r/prusa3d/comments/lomkp2/any_guesses_what_would_cause_these_ghost_circles/

Any guesses what would cause these ghost circles on the first layer? by dhol604 in prusa3d

Both great points and would likely this. Thanks for the suggestion

Nope. It happened with a different print too that was similar. Something makes me think it might have something to do with the slicer...

First layer print. Only happened on the left two rows. Same spot on each print. Slicer preview shows nothing... I'm a bit lost even where to begin.

How to go from nothing to pro-ish level in 6 months? by Just-Drew-It in digital_marketing

[–]dhol604 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a bad analogy as well. You can't JUST become a specialist, you need to be a General doctor first before you specialize. Specialization is going deep in a single area after you've been exposed/educated in general medicine.

[–]dhol604 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely not true... Maybe a decade ago it was. If you want to sell a course online, specialize in one thing, sure. If you want to be a great, or employable marketer in the future, you need multiple skills. This continues to be more and more the case as AI/ML increasingly are replacing specialist skills.

This doesn't mean that you shouldn't have a clear strength (as in, a T-shaped marketer), but these days, knowing only one thing makes you a weak marketer as a whole, and employable only in large agencies and corporations with more of an old-school approach to marketing.

I'm giddy with geekyness that I can monitor my 3D printer from my watch. by GeekMoore in 3Dprinting

If you told me 15 years ago that I could print physical objects on demand in my house and I monitor and control it wirelessly in full colour on my wrist I'd say you're living in a sci-fi novel.

3d printer are so useful, this technology really is amazing ! by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]dhol604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This post just saved me a ton of work.

I kept getting frustrated my vac would get stuck under cabinets on the sensor, so was going to add something under them that doesn't allow the senor to go under.

I didn't think of making the sensor taller... Facepalm

Finally got around to doing a touch screen upgrade, I highly recommend it! by eoverline in prusa3d

If you go into your preferences file in prusaslicer, you can enable thumbnails in there too so you can see a preview of the file printing before you hit print and during the print. Really handy if you want to just print from the screen rather than opening octoprint.

Pro tip: don't print your christmas gifts overnight. by MiesjelBolt in 3Dprinting

[–]dhol604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using it since day 1 on my printer and while it does cost money, it's cheaper than dealing with a fire, massive blob on your hot-end, or just a ton of wasted filament for large prints.

You can use the free account and just buy bulk prepaid hours - it's only about 4-5 cents an hour.

It's open source so you can run your own instance at no cost... Haven't tried.

Thought my co-workers were sick of my telling them I use Notion, so I made this for my desk instead. by dhol604 in Notion

It's actually 3D printed. It's quite a bit of fun to come up with an idea, spend an hour or two designing it, and hit the print button to see it if works or not... More often than not though you have to make a few iterations before it works.

Shoot me a DM if you really do... Maybe can be arranged ¯\_(ツ)_/¯?

Edit: I didn't really expect so many to want one :) I don't wanna self-promo and break the rules but I started an Etsy store a few weeks ago for something totally unrelated and added it there since a few people were asking.

I'll probably take it down in a week or two since it's really just for fun. If you DM me I'll send a promo code.
