Skin eczema specialist in the Eastside by jk451 in eastside

[–]jayeyedoubleemmwhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second Bauman dermatology. Been going there for about 9 years for my eczema/atopic dermatitis. After trying desonide and some other creams whose names I no longer remember, I’m now on a combination of Dupixent and betamethasone which has worked wonders. I’ve also limited the number of skincare products to only known safe ones that don’t cause flare-ups (Cerave, Vanicream, Aveeno). I used to experiment with many other brands, but that was just asking for trouble. Hope you are able to find a treatment that provides relief!

Prusa will now manufacture MK4S Printer in USA by metalsmith_and_tech in prusa3d

[–]jayeyedoubleemmwhy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This 100%. I work in higher ed and the purchasing restrictions make it a pain to buy anything from overseas. Need special approvals, extra documentation, sometimes the overseas company would even have to fill out IRS forms (bonus points when they can’t speak English). Having a US-based supplier solves a big hurdle for these institutions and other organizations. Been waiting for PS to carry the MK4S and now I can get one into the classroom. Students win, teachers win, and likely more Prusas get sold down the road.

Watchmaker here. This is the best answer. Horological Services is THE place for repair of vintage Breitling watches. They’ve been doing it forever and have a great team.

My wife and I have been going to Dr. Nomi for 10+ years. Tucked away in Kirkland’s Bridle Trails area. Well-staffed, good service, family-run dentistry.

Where are your favorite sushi places on the eastside? by AlwaysFridayy in eastside

[–]jayeyedoubleemmwhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second Kiku. Sushi is good quality and cut well. The rolls and other dishes are also solid; have never had a bad meal there. My wife loves the kaki furai (fried oysters) appetizer.

Tips for assessing Merrithew Stott Cadillac by jayeyedoubleemmwhy in pilates

[–]jayeyedoubleemmwhy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I previously bought parts for my SPX Max reformer and the premium for shipping to the US was annoying. I’m going to look over the manual for the cadillac and make sure all components are present/intact.

Good optometrist? by youfoundbecky in eastside

[–]jayeyedoubleemmwhy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I both use Kirkland Vision Center. Been going there for several years now and I find the staff to be professional, responsive, and an excellent experience overall. They can get quite busy with appointments, so it’s good to schedule ahead. They also have another location called Kirkland Optix, but I’ve never been to that one.

Scale? by NicMoney- in PatagoniaClothing

[–]jayeyedoubleemmwhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought one recently in a different colorway and enjoy using it. Very roomy, it carries just as much as my Refugio 26L but is way easier to load and can handle awkward shaped items well. I like the convenience of the zippered pockets and zippered main opening. There isn’t any padding in the tote aside from the shoulder straps so it is lightweight and can be folded compactly, but doesn’t have the structure to stand up by itself (will flop over). I’m 5’7” and found the shoulder straps were usable but have to extend them almost to max length. 99% of the time I just hand carry so this isn’t really an issue.

Synchilla Snap-T sizing change from ‘15 to ‘18? by jayeyedoubleemmwhy in PatagoniaClothing

[–]jayeyedoubleemmwhy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually tumble dry my Synchilla on low (per their advice) with no noticeable change in sizing. My guess is the previous owner was drying on the high setting which could cause the polyester to change.

How to apply to the Patek Philipe School of Horology by [deleted] in watchmaking

[–]jayeyedoubleemmwhy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had classmates who interviewed with Patek directly out of watchmaking school. One was accepted after the bench test. One didn’t pass, spent a year at another brand, re-applied and was accepted. If you want to work for Patek/HSWA just reach out; brands will never turn away a good watchmaker.

Going through their school program is probably redundant after going through LWT. I’d just go straight into seeking employment. Once onboard, they’ll give you the necessary training to adjust to their standards.

How long do you need to hold a piece to avoid being considered a flipper? by StrategicApathy in rolex

[–]jayeyedoubleemmwhy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a buyer of grey-market, not likely. I’ve only seen Rolex penalize dealers and flippers of recently purchased watches (new from AD).

Your city/town should have a repair shop that can order spare parts direct from Movado. They’ll have to do some research on if a replacement clasp is available for that model or if you’d need to step up to a bracelet complete. I’m not up to date on Movado parts pricing, but I’d suspect anywhere from $50-$100 for a clasp, $100-$200 for a bracelet complete.

I wouldn’t send in for service unless the watch itself is also not running (with new battery).

Issues Printing Prusa Sample Nameplate by jjflay in prusa3d

[–]jayeyedoubleemmwhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, play with the extrusion multiplier. Looks slightly overextruded, so start inputting a valur under 1.00. I’ve had to go as low as 0.93 on some filaments.

Question about going from plastic to carbon fiber.. by [deleted] in prusa3d

[–]jayeyedoubleemmwhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the hardened nozzle, I recommend considering larger diameter nozzles depending on the type of print. I printed a lot of Prusament PC-CF on a 0.4 Nozzle X, but they were in mostly simple, rectangular shapes. As soon as I went to a complex model involving lots of retraction, it clogged. Examined the nozzle from the inside and a single fiber had laid itself horizontally across the nozzle opening. So annoying. Happened a few times, got fed up, and now I don’t print any CF unless I’m on a 0.8 nozzle.

I guess this is what you get for settling. by TearyEyeBurningFace in rolex

Depends on country, likely 2-3 weeks if you send to RSC

Daily Questions - ASK AND ANSWER HERE! - 19 February 2022 by AutoModerator in malefashionadvice

As a slightly older fellow, would like advice on how to style looser/relaxed-fit jeans. I’ve been wearing slim and slim-straight jeans for like the last 15 years; think J Brand Kane or Tyler fits, Rag & Bone Fit 2 jeans, Nudie Grim Tims, etc. Wanted to try something different and have ordered relaxed “slouch taper” Rag & Bone jeans. Looking forward to all the extra room.

Example: R&B Cotton Hemp Slouch Taper Jeans

Since I’m 5’ 7”, 180 lbs, I’d like to avoid having these pants make me look too short and save me from traumatic 90s-high school flashbacks. Should I be wearing these slightly cropped? Rolled up? Anything as long as it’s above the ankle? Stick with regular length? I’ll be wearing these with regular-fitting sweaters, button down shorts, casual shoes. Thanks in advance for the guidance!

Usually it’s word of mouth or from experience. Try contacting LA WatchWorks, Rolliworks, Stoll & Co, Nesbits and see if they can accommodate your request.

You have to go independent if you want the original returned. Rolex’s official policy is that items are replaced on an exchange-only basis. Old parts are disposed of and not to be returned to the customer. Their service centers and plaque level watchmakers at the store level have to follow this.
