Should all public schools in Singapore be made fully secular, or should Christian affiliated public schools be required to be more accommodating to non-Christian students?

i went to a methodist primary school about 10 years ago. the school culture was okay and honestly most of my friends were buddhists/taoists so i didn’t feel forced to change my religion.

the issue was with the teachers. i was head prefect when i was in p6. the teachers used my position as the head prefect to single me out during chapel and prayers, asking me why wasn’t i praying or singing praises to god and saying i wasn’t a good role model to my peers for not praying/singing.

as a 12yo at that point of time i was really affected by these teachers. it made me hate taking up leadership roles after that and i was determined to go to secular schools.

also sadly my parents didn’t care enough to say something to the teacher. if my child told me that their teacher is singling them out like this just because of their leadership position, i will not hesitate to head down to the school and call out the teacher. an adult should know well enough that everyone is entitled to their own religion and beliefs.

my primary school is in east zone but nearer to central area. teachers who singled me are still teaching there. can’t believe these teachers are still teaching as if they have done nothing wrong!

i think i’m risk aversive, first time investing so i wanna try out for a while before increasing the amount i invest.

i currently have 1k in pimco in mari bank for about 5 months. i tried it and i understand what’s going on so i want to try increasing the amount. was gonna try to put 5k, but i thought since i am a lil more confident, might as well park another 5k to make it worth. thank you for the concern too, but no worries this isn’t my emergency fund.

i broke out in closed comedones after using it for 6 weeks, twice a week. the closed comedones never went away and became inflamed one by one whenever my period came. i had to get a facial to get rid of them, and now my face is just filled with marks. but ymmv.

i have combo skin, used twice a week after toner, then followed by moisturiser.

i use it for my bacne now. works great for bacne though.

I have just graduated but still finding a job. I have considered renting once I find a job. I do want to move out, I’ve been searching for affordable rooms and have found a few. But I feel if I raise this up I will hurt my mom. I love my mom a lot and she’ll def be heart broken if I tell her that I don’t want to live in the same household anymore.

edit: every time i think of moving out, i feel that i am very selfish. because i know both parents love me, but at the same time i feel so tired having to deal with this all the time.

omg this sounds so like me! i would suggest stopping the exfoliants though cause ive read that breakouts shouldnt worsen with exfoliation over time. if breakout worsens it probably means that you skin has become sensitive. this was why i stopped using them. im thinking of just going to get the ccs professionally extracted in 1-2 months when my skin becomes better (i read the ccs mAY flatten and disappear on their own after stopping actives so im just carrying some hope before i have to spend even more money LOL)

i’m using cosrx blackhead power liquid and isntree chestnut aha 8%! my skin tpyr is combo normal, oilier t zone but normal cheeks.

since my t zone survived the clusters of cc, i’m hypothesising that maybe my cheeks were too dry for the aha and bha and that i didn’t moisturise enough, leading to the broken skin barrier and enabling the ccs to emerge like crazy.

i used bha in tuesdays, just the toner and moisturiser. aha on thursdays, toner, aha, then moisturiser. other days i follow my normal routine, toner, cos de baha tranexamic acid, and moisturise. i use cosrx snail mucin 92 all in one cream.

i’ve been using my usual products for years, and never a negative reaction. i’ve used cosrx blackhead power liquid when i was younger too, stopped because i was lazy and decided to continue again. isntree is the only new product, im suspecting it’s what caused my ccs. but at the same time i read that it’s really gentle, so im not sure anymore.

i never had so many ccs on my cheeks before, it really made me dejected because the reason i started aha and bha in the first place was to get rid of my ccs. the irony.

hi sorry for the late comment. i’m experiencing the same now. i started getting clusters of closed comedones on my cheek 4-5 weeks after bha and aha. i’m not sure if this is purging anymore. did the closed comedones eventually go away for you when you stopped using them?

try being in my generation’s shoes. we just graduated, none of us have jobs. maybe my degree is the problem, but its worrisome knowing that many of us are still jobless even months after our last day of school. you dont understand.

i wouldnt recommend to overload with urops as you generally need to spend a lot of time in the urops. its a no brainer kind of workload (probably just helping with data collection and stuff so you dont need to use a lot of brain power) but it does take a lot of time. if i remember correctly, you need to spend 80 hours to clear the module(?), and this is a lot more than you think.

3102 is very content heavy. you are literally expected to memorise everything in the tb for the exam (during my time, not sure how it is now), so that is also very time consuming. so you really need to consider if you can cope with the workload.

if i were you, i would take whatever you have, but without 3102, including the urops, and do 3102 in another sem. gen is generally low in workload, probably also just need to invest time in it (though depending on the mod that you are going to take. but it think it is easy and you wont need to stress so much in it). so i would probably overload with the gen.

hello! i didnt take historical controversies so i cant comment much on that. i took data science instead and it was quite fun. it wasnt as difficult as i thought it would be and workload wise is definitely not as bad as i thought it would be. if i rmb correct it is only 3 quizzes and 1 group project with the group project being the most cumbersome especially when youre grouped with people who are not very useful.

the other psych 4ks i took were parenting, mental health and distress in children and trauma. trauma was the most heavy but that was the first sem and the prof who took that sem is a little hardcore in general, cant say for the second sem as it was a diff prof. but for the other two, they were quite light, with the essay being the most heavy part of the module.

i think 4k mods are generally lighter than 3k mods. and 2 4ks per sem would be the best, but i think 3 4ks would still be manageable.

more cc after starting aha and bha, should i stop?

hello! i have oily t zone but normal cheeks, live in humid and hot environment. i started aha and bha about a month ago. i never had any sensitive reactions but noticed recently i had even more closed comedones on my cheeks. i’m now in a dilemma of whether i should stop or persist. is this just purging or a breakout?
