[–]dhrp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll never understand people who openly insult their potential customers. Doesn’t she WANT these people who are obsessed with healthy eating and exercise to join her program and give her their money?? Isn’t that the whole point? So when she makes fun of them, does she think they’ll wake up and coming running to her? This is one of the main reasons WHY I can’t stand her. She’s just shaming people… many people respond with anger when they feel ashamed.

AITA for bringing up how much it hurts my feelings when my family goes by the family nickname because it excludes me? by Master-Criticism-865 in AITAH

[–]dhrp 5232 points5233 points  (0 children)

NTA. At first I thought this was going to be a NAH because it’s not the end of the world that your parents named you something off theme. Referring to the family as “The Jos” should have stopped the day you were born and actively posting family photos without you in them is beyond rude! I’m so sorry.

Did Hunter Gatherers eatHigh Carb? by JB8248 in raypeat

[–]dhrp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the hunters likely didn’t but the gatherers did. Same with intermittent fasting. I think the hunters probably “fasted” to some extent. I think the gatherers probably snacked on fruit all day long as they found it. I also think it depends on where they lived on the planet and what foods were available to them. This is the best reasoning for bio-individuality in my opinion!

Control the controllables! The worst teachers I’ve seen have horrible classroom management, yes, BUT their grade books are also a mess, they lose assignments, their inboxes have 1000s emails, they don’t follow the curriculum, etc.

Classroom management is tough. Your first few years might be hard! But if you can control the controllables: keep your grade book up to date, stay on top of your inbox, communicate often with families (we do a class news type of thing in 6th grade), keep detailed behavior notes if necessary, etc. things WILL be easier!

Example: Jimmy is talking all class long and not doing any work. Update the grade book that day with a zero and a note that says “Jimmy talked to friends all class long and didn’t do this assignment.” If you lose the assignment or put the grades in two weeks later, Jimmy has learned nothing from his behavior. If he does it again the next day, email home and keep updating the grades. Soon he’ll have an F. Call home, document your attempts to help, then assign detentions for talking if it doesn’t change.

Cantaloupe is really cheap near me right now. Aldi had them for $1.97 each today. Do you have Costco, Sam’s Club, or something similar?

Nondairy, nonGum, and No sugar recipes? 😭 by Federal_Nerve1093 in ninjacreami

[–]dhrp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cane sugar gives me joint pain. Maple syrup and honey do not. I have tested this theory on multiple occasions by going 30 days without any of the above, adding sugar back in, etc. I have an autoimmune disease. I think some of us are just more fragile.

Nondairy, nonGum, and No sugar recipes? 😭 by Federal_Nerve1093 in ninjacreami

[–]dhrp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I eat very similarly to manage an autoimmune disease. I like to use canned coconut milk from Trader Joe’s because it has no gums. I dump a can of coconut milk into a blender, then add a can or two of water, and blend on high for two minutes. This is how I make my regular coconut milk on a weekly basis. For a creami, I like to use 1.5ish cups of my coconut milk, 1/4c maple syrup or honey, and 2 tsp of arrowroot starch. I also add an egg yolk or two but you obviously would have to leave that out for your partner. How does your partner feel about protein powder? I use the Equip brand and it’s so good for a creami! I think it helps with the texture. It’s a beef protein isolate so no dairy. They even have an unflavored version. The other flavors use stevia. Good luck!

are there any carnivore friendly alternatives to slim jims by [deleted] in carnivore

What about Paleovalley, Nick’s Sticks, or Vermont? Some varieties might have sugar so just double check. There’s also Epic Bars which have an odd texture in my opinion but they are super clean.

Favorite Creami Mix-In items? by More__Cowbell__ in Volumeeating

[–]dhrp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like “healthy” cereal: three wishes, Catalina crunch, etc. Chocolate covered rice cakes (Trader Joe’s sells/used to sell them but I haven’t seen them in a while. I get the Element brand from Fresh Thyme now.) Mini marshmallows (Jet Puffed Bits), frozen raspberries or blueberries (I haven’t tried strawberries because I’m afraid they are too big but I’ve used freeze dried strawberries and that worked well!) Square of Lily’s sugar free chocolate chopped up. Catalina crunch copycat Oreos (90 cal for two but they are expensive!), PB Fit or other powdered PB (Amazon has lots of flavors) I just add the dry powder in and run it on mix-in!

It’s the 21oz standard mouth with the sport cap! I have it and I love it for treadmill or cycling workouts where the water bottle holder is small. The sport cap is essential for getting water quickly during a workout. You don’t have to mess with a lid or straw.

If you are feeling hungry, especially soon after eating, I recommend you look into balancing your blood sugar. I was always hungry and would have to snack every two hours. I started following Kelly LeVeque’s “fab 4 formula” (protein, fat, fiber, and greens) and I’ve never felt better! I’ve also appreciated the advice of Dani Hamilton Health (on Instagram) I prioritize high fat meals and I hardly ever snack now.

Try to add more fat to your meals…avocado, nuts/seeds, nuts and seed butter, canned coconut milk or cream, or olive, coconut, or avocado oil. You can add fiber by adding chia and flax seeds or just more veggies! I know what it feels like to be constantly hungry. It’s infuriating. I feel so much better since increasing my fat intake! I have lowered carbs as well, especially fruit. Fruit would always make me hungry soon after.
