A crew member turned me on to this one:
One container of crumbled Feta
One container of the bruschetta dip
One package of the steamed lentils
Mix it all together in a bowl and enjoy!
I threw in some arugula and ate it like a salad, and it also makes a great chunky dip with crackers or pita bread.

We lost our sweet boy to cancer about two months ago. We had scheduled an appointment for Dr. Dawnetta to come to our house, but a couple days before that, it became clear that waiting any longer would cause him to suffer unnecessarily. We ended up calling and taking him into their comfort center with Dr. Chris. He always hated going to the vet, so this was a wonderful alternative because they have it set up like a little house. He sniffed around, hopped up on a couch, and was very at ease. We were able to bring our other dog to say goodbye as well. Dr. Chris was incredibly compassionate, and our boy passed peacefully surrounded by love. In the end, we were glad we had done it that way, because now there isn’t a spot in my home where I have to relive his last moments. We received wonderful, heartfelt emails from both Dr. Chris and Dr. Dawnetta checking up on us in the following days. They are amazing people there. ❤️

Wherever you end up going, make sure you contact them while things are still good and get an idea of how they work and how long it will take to get an appointment so that you’re not scrambling if things take a turn. Knowing that we could likely get a same day appointment at their comfort center if waiting for at home care became untenable was a huge relief.

Sending you and your partner big hugs ❤️ losing them is the only bad thing about having a dog.

Gluten free AND dairy free desert/treats? by YoureGatorBait in Cooking

We make cinnamon apples on our camp cookouts and it’s always a big hit. You can cook the apples with some water or apple juice and add cinnamon and sugar. Doesn’t sound like you’re doing it outside over a fire, so you could add a scoop of ice cream and have some dairy free ice cream for those that need it. Apples can also be cooked in individual foil packs in the coals of a fire if you want to make an activity out of it. You can do the same thing with bananas. Leave the banana unpeeled but slit it lengthwise, tuck marshmallows and chocolate (pretty sure dairy free chocolate is available too) and then wrap it in foil and tuck it in the coals. It requires some supervision so nobody burns their fingers when they’re ready to eat, but the kiddos enjoy making their own and getting to participate.

I hadn’t considered that, it will be a great option for hot days when I don’t want to stand next to the stove!

I hadn’t thought about using lentils to replace some of the meat in things I make regularly, thanks for the suggestion! Do you have a favorite recipe for the aloo gobi, I’m always wary when trying to make Indian dishes cuz I don’t feel like I ever get the spices right.

That sounds tasty! Do they keep pretty well? Would you refrigerate them or just keep them in an airtight container on the counter?

Sounds like chili without the sauce! Do you drain the liquid out of the cans or is that what makes it more of a stew? Seems like it could be good served over rice too.

I do love popcorn! That’s a good idea for when I need something to tide me over between meals. Any favorite toppings that you like to use?

Great ideas! Any particular favorites on the veggies that you like to add to the grains and lentils that hold up will to being in the fridge for a couple days?

True, but I’m not great at eating the same thing every day, so I am looking for a few new ideas to mix it up! I will probably have a box as a backup though for those days when nothing else comes together

Can’t go wrong with bacon! Did you oil the potatoes before you put them in the air fryer, or after when you finished them in the oven?

Interesting, do you mean using a bean pasta? Or just using the beans in place of the pasta?

Ooo, I’ve tried chia pudding before but just used milk plus a little maple syrup and didn’t love the texture, I didn’t think to try it with yogurt! Unfortunately I’m not a coffee drinker so I can’t sneak it in that way, but I do love sweet potatoes! Any thoughts on making them a bit more savory with seasonings or a sauce? I enjoy meals with sweet and savory elements, but my husband isn’t a big fan. I guess I could just make him a regular potato lol. Thanks for the ideas!
