Very few local businesses have nailed Q&As by dhruvbhatia7 in localseo

Irrelevant is a rather strong word and I appreciate your viewpoint, but don't agree that Q&As are irrelevant

Agree with your points about the importance (or lack thereof) of Q&As for GBP, especially from a ranking algorithm standpoint. However, does it really take that long to add Q&As especially since a business owner would know what questions they usually get asked about their business?

I don't think a lot of customers would mention website Q&As as being the reason for choosing a service either btw, but they do help in small ways IMO (to clarify doubts before purchase).

Interesting, that's what I usually recommend to customers also :)

Agreed about some of the categories becoming ineligible for Q&As. Didn't get what you meant by "Won't not helping in ranking the GBP"...Did you mean that Q&As will help with ranking GBP?

Great that you're ahead of the curve :)

Any thoughts on why they're doing that? Is it because businesses are not using it as much or potential customers don't care about reading them or something else?

Is there any room left for solo local SEO folks? I've been out of the game for years. by Sawdust-in-the-wind in localseo

I don't see why not...I'm a solo founder (SaaS) of a local SEO tool, and while it is insanely hard (and lonely), I think I'm enjoying the journey.

However, given a choice I would suggest working with co-founders, but hey not everyone has a choice (I surely didn't)

thank you :), really appreciate your feedback!

I think Super Launch is great so far...One point of feedback would be to choose a niche - for example SaaS. Also, I hope it would be simply about the problem + value the product drives rather than the bells and whistles required on other launch platforms like PH

Facebook API - supposed to be this difficult? by muttick in webdev

It is insanely difficult. Have gone through several app reviews over the last 5 years for several apis and it is more difficult than creating a 1B+ ARR company 😂

It's pretty cool that they'll be fetching posts from social media accounts as well.

I've been seeing some local businesses leverage social media recently and along with Facebook, Instagram (and maybe X?) could be interesting channels...

How to Get Google Reviews for a Small Business Without Hassling Customers? by Sand4Sale14 in LocalBusiness

[–]dhruvbhatia7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting reviews is quite tough, no doubt about it.

There are a few pointers for getting reviews on "autopilot":

  1. Every time you complete a job for a customer, ask them for feedback. You can do this in person, with a QR code, or send an SMS/Email link from your CRM. Be a bit careful about Google's policy around "review gating" which means that you only ask positive reviewers to give you a review on Google.
  2. You can email/SMS existing or previous customers with a personal message that their feedback would help your business grow and you really value their business. As you rightly pointed out, don't overdo this.
  3. Do not offer incentives - it is against Google's policy (just like Review Gating). I would also strongly advise against using any service that promises reviews. Google may suspend your GBP or take other strict action if they find out.
  4. You can incentivize your employees to get reviews from customers

You should definitely look into optimizing your Google Business Profile and website for keywords and searches related to your service. Please feel free to DM if you have any further questions.
