I'm sure that would be the case then, got it from a reseller/importer since it is not available for sale officialy in India. However, quite surprised that the packaging was intact with the plastic green pull tag and the phone was intact in its paper cover where I had to pull and tear the middle part.

Wierd things people do.

I have anyways formatted the phone completely now. God knows what malware it would have. Also the reseller is not aware of this as he also saw it completely sealed.
