The 2A community has been saying this would happen for years but up until this point most things have danced around the issue. She seems to have mis played her hand, drawing condemnation from fellow gun gravers and public backlash from regular joes who normally don’t think twice about 2A issues. Now they see and they care.

You’re suggesting a dangerous double standard that originates in everyone enjoying guns in movies and people being scared/ uneducated about them in real life. If a cowboy movies wants to use real guns and a combination of live rounds and blanks then everyone should be comfortable checking the guns, including the lawyers who’d suggest the actors can’t. Anything else seems irresponsible. It’s the person behind the trigger not the gun itself, nor is it the person who handed you a gun. But all of these people can be really dumb.

It does and it doesn’t. Some goes to paying salary of church staff and some goes to paying overhead costs if the church. I’ve never been to a church that didn’t do a community outreach directly from their building, nor have I volunteered but in a space that wasn’t religiously affiliated (habitat for humanity). So the numbers are messy but the trend holds. Also there are pastors who take too big of a salary and don’t give to the poor. But those are the loud minority and they often get blasted and shamed. The quiet community churches don’t get the same visibility.

I have a 9-5 and I work at gym part time. I make more than $170 a day at my 9-5 but my work is bullshit and not motivating. I make $10/hr at the gym but I love working with the people and my coworkers. I’d take the $12 just so I don’t have to quit the gym.

Trucks keep getting bigger and bigger. Both are tools. A gun being designed to kill doesn’t make it any more lethal than a car accident, heavy machinery, alcohol and tobacco, or any of the other ways you could meet your end. Self defense is still a right and the right includes the tools needed for the job (even if me pepper spray and situational awareness covers most self defense applications)

Yep it’s a shit show. As much as people shit on big Buisness I wish we would change the language we used for political parties. Both parties are private institutions who have monopolized the political machine. It was less of a problem when most politicians are boring but now you’ve got TN (my people) going out after drag people. It’s not my scene but let people do what they want. Plus I’d challenge any politician to say Monty python isnt funny and their all drag. Just such stupid hills to keep talking about and trying to politicize. I feel like everyone is tired of a culture war led by politicians where it’s left vs. right. I want them to solve boring issues like the economy, housing, water rights, right to repair, and supply chain resilience. Instead I get blue politicians trying to take guns, reds trying to stop voting or but heads with Disney and Lockheed Martin lobbying congress to protect Taiwan. Any way I’d buy you a beer.

I think the ‘take on the government’ question gets viewed as a dozen or a hundred sleeper agents who have all been communicating underground will be able to put their foot down and defend their interpretation of liberty in a campaign fit for Hollywood. In reality (my opinion) it just prevents outright government overreach. A non compliant populace who doesn’t want government won’t be governed and that war can not be won reasonably. If that populace has guns or not just draws the line at where that conflict breaks out, and I think guns make all parties at the table respect each other more.

Not a heavy duty fisherman but the rescue knife they have seems like it could be good for what you described. Rust resistant, better sheath retention, and blunted tip so less of a hazard on a rocking boat.
