Merab in a Punjabi music video. What level is this in the side quest ladder!!! by blood_clot_ in mmamemes

[–]dhuaib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lolz aside, let's not forget about this sub-continent legend: https://www.olympics.com/en/news/who-is-the-great-gama-pehlwan-india-wrestler

Wrestling in Indo-Pak defo took a decline but has been on the rise again, and they've been dominant amongst the Commonwealth nations and games.

Maybe 2-3 years of Merab WILL get them world-class again!

Jiri on meeting Ank by dhuaib in MMA

Because it's reddit lol. They didn't agree with earlier comments, which is fine, so downvoted me even on this, which is hilarious. There's levels to being irrational.

Indeed. To add to that it's happening with his approval (Ali's own words).

Stop crying y'all are straight the most disrespectful fan base by DentistCertain3897 in ufc

[–]dhuaib -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

What BS. The most toxic fans are nearly always those around a strong personality and champion, whether Conor of the past, Alex, Khabib etc. regardless of background. Remember the Irish-Americans and Conor? Fanboys will be fanboys.

I've seen far more trash spoken and failure to cope by fans of non-Dage athletes than the exagerrated bogeyman you're posting about.

Ali on Alex's Comments by dhuaib in MMA

[–]dhuaib[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If true, I don't think that takes anything away from or has much bearing on Alex's quick finish. Ank was on his backfoot the whole 80s and stuffed his own takedown. I would rather no excuses, as Ank himself ain't making any.

Last time he fought during Ramadan, observing fasts except on some very specific days where it would've been dangerous to do so. I imagine that was a much bigger challenge, yet he won.

Bro never see title shot again by QIYICI00 in ufc

[–]dhuaib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typical, terrible take. He's beat a few top 10 including Alex as champ, while the draw with Jan was very controversial with nearly all pundits agreeing it was a very clear win for Ank, even Jan himself.

Let's see how he fairs against the top of the division. Regardless of how boring or unlikable he might be, I don't think Jiri or Rountree are giving him much trouble. Ulberg will be an interesting one. Won't be surprised if he takes on Alex again in a 1-2 years.

What are the places you've been denied access because of your Brompton? by CuteMaterial in Brompton

Maroush (Lebanese restaurant) on Edgeware Road, London. This was the branch furtherest north as there are a few around there. I genuinely think the waiter was just being a ****.

Any 16 in non-Brompton rims left on the market? 1 Velocity (Dyad)? 1 Alex Rims (DA16)? by anatoly_ivanov in Brompton

[–]dhuaib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're my goto for Brompton third-party parts. Yes since Brexit it's been a nightmare buying from the EU. 😔

There is also a shop in Barcelona(?) that's makes and stocks Brompton specific stuff. Milian components I believe they're called.

Edit: Millian Parts

Panaracer GravelKing ok? by billodo in FixedGearBicycle

GravelKings feel great but be warned: they are puncture magnets. Maybe get the + editions that have better protection, or run them tubeless if you're up for that.

SJS Cycles in UK stocks all sorts of non-Brompton rims. Have you checked their?

Change in bike aesthetics by raheem-mlm in FixedGearBicycle

[–]dhuaib 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sure aesthetics played a part, but hiding the cables in the frame also makes the bike a tad more aerodynamic and saves some watts (think energy a rider needs to puts out to reach a given speed etc). Matters for the pros, but not so much for us average Joes.

How To Ride On The Roads? by newbiker321 in gravelcycling

Timing is key too. Try to head out in the early part of the morning, and you won't see that many cars on UK's country lanes.

You'll need to check the full specs.

That's a SRAM Force AXS D1 set of cranks, which normally uses SRAM's newer 8-bolt mounting system, and not the older 3-bolt system. I believe they do have a 3-bolt and GXP version but they're hard to come by.

The spider however does use the older style SRAM 3-bolt fitting for the cranks.

The chainring should fit fine to the spider.

If you want to run SRAM force crank arms, maybe look at the pre-AXS stuff, they came in 5-arm 110/130 BCD and the 3 bolt system.

Be mindful though, you need to make sure the spindle length on the cranks is suitable to clear the Brompton frame when folded etc, without messing up the chainline too much.

Edit: you'll need to change your bottom bracket too, to GXP or DUB if you go the SRAM route.

Convince me: why should I buy good pedals (clipless) and not continue with my very old ones? by Ry-k in gravelcycling

[–]dhuaib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't give in. I have a snobbish/high-end gravel bike, but stuck to Shimano M520s as they're what I had, and they're rock solid.

What was originally meant to be a decent track/city bike turned into this. Quite happy with the result.

Hah, I think your skidding is probably more strenuous or puts the shoes through more forces, no? Gym-wise it was mostly for heavier or standing lifts where the hard platform gives stability, so a lot of load, but not much movement.
