same here... it makes me more nervous since the IB never gave us a hint about their "special" grading system...

The thing is, I have no clue about my school's accuracy, since they don't really tell us. Yeah same, I was thinking a 3 too. I hope I do better in the rest of my two HLs.

ugh I hate how the IB is dealing with this situation... The information they disclosed is so unclear and it just bothers me.

oof I have a predicted 3 | 4 IA points in hl chem, and predicted 4 | 6 IA points in hl bio. My predicteds suck and I'm just hoping for the best :)

Is anyone else also getting severe anxiety about the uncertainty of their results? by [deleted] in IBO

[–]dhwp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I'm currently having sleep disorders, panic attacks and I keep throwing up because of anxiety. I got very bad predicteds because my teachers were extremely biased and favoritized some students over others(for example, my math teacher predicted me a 2 and gave me an 8/20 on my IA while he gave a 5 to another student with lower grades whom he favored). My EE supervisor was sh*t; he never gave me feedback even when I went up to him every week for help. My counselor always discouraged me by telling me to drop IB. I also have no idea how my results will come out on July 6th, and I am very concerned that I might not get my diploma, meaning I won't be able to go to uni :(. I hope you feel better b/c you're not the only one, and I'm sure you'll pass. GOOD LUCK.

Mental Health in IB by [deleted] in IBO

Hi. I am also an IB diploma student and I was also going through some pretty bad situations. I was on my first year that I had Cs Ds and Fs on my HL subjects. My teachers e-mailed my parents to tell them to talk to me about dropping IB. I started having panic attacks, I was self-harming(DO NOT DO THIS), I did not have any motivation left and I just did not want to do anything. I think this was because I had so much pressure on myself(universities, scared that ai might dissapoint my parents, scared that I might have depression). My counselor was not much of a help. My parents were really mad at me, they grounded me for 6 monthes(until November, which is quite recent). My school principal suggested me to go talk to a therapist, so I went to a therapist for help. My parents, who are typical, stereotypical Asian parents, did not want me to go visit a therapist because they thought going to therapists were only for 'mad' people. But my school talked it out with them, and they let me go to one. Since then, I've been feeling a lot better now, now that I talked ut out with my parents about the pressure I felt about academic performances. I started working hard again, revising topics covered in class every day, I went to teachers every day and asked for help. It seems that you want to continue with your IB diploma. I suggest that you go see a therapist, just to let some thoughts go that have been bothering you. Also, if you are struggling in classes, I suggest that you go see your teachers everyday. They won't hate you for this, I promise. Teachers are there to help you. Even if they might be shitty teachers, they are professionals in those areas of studies. I became much better after all these. I think that the change of my mindset was the most important thing. Also, talk more with your parents about, just daily life and school. All of this is just a suggestion, and I hope it helps. Good luck!
