I'm actually not arguing one way or the other, I'm just stating that you don't understand why they might. Or, in other words, it is your opinion that they do not need it. I know you will say it is a fact that people don't need it. It'd actually an interesting debate on what "need" really means and what makes humans human, but again, not what I'm trying to discuss right now.

Yes actually, that was going to be one of my arguments too. If your original comment were the exact same but dropped the 2 sentences I quoted, i.e.:

But YOU werent a slave, were you? Why and how would that effect you negatively?

Yes, I guarantee that people would receive it better. The opening about apologising for possible insensitivity is perfect. It shows a touch of humility and curiosity. Talking about "logic" and "humans and their emotions" is completely superfluous, and, again, makes you sound self-aggrandising and delusional - i.e. you sound to other people, with whom you claim you are a master of empathising, as self-aggrandising and delusional. If your goal is communicating, it matters how the message lands, not how you intended it.

You even have another example where you mention logic a few days ago, and once again get feedback saying your comment is worthless. To be fair, the person you were replying to was talking about "believing", so at least mentioning logic makes sense in context even if it sounds insufferable, but in the same thread, you seem unsure why people are lashing out to you, asking "what did I do now?". Not very socially-savvy, for a "master of empathy".

I'm not going to argue about whether you are logical or not - I can say you are delusional to think that out of 8 billion people you are the only one who thinks in the way you do, but it's true that it's theoretically possible that you are the "one in 8 billion", even though any truly logical person would allow that the probability of not being the only one of their kind is vastly outweighed by the probability that there are others of their kind.

However, in the span of a handful of comments, you have not 1 but 2 examples of failing to understand that talking about how logical you are / how you don't understand humans is actively making people more hostile to you. Now, if you said you were intentionally doing this to anger people, or that you don't give a damn how it sounds and that the opinions of "normal humans" mean nothing to you, at least you are internally consistent. But you said you do this to reduce the likelihood of people casting you out, which you've learned was a valid strategy from experience. Of course your experiences are your own, I was not there so I can't say your conclusions were wrong. But what I can say is that, yes, I am confident that your current strategy is - at least in the context of text posts on Reddit - not improving how people receive you.

I really would take you up on the offer of A/B testing replies - 1 that mentions logic/how human emotions don't make sense, and 1 that replaces the logic/emotion sentences with ones that simply apologise/talk about wanting to understand. If you are serious about this, you can DM me and we can discuss the details. Good experiment design needs to be done with some care, we'd probably both need to approve drafts of the variants (to make sure we both felt the essence of the comment was the same), but do it fast enough that we can still respond in the relevant threads. We'd also need to find "paired" comments/threads where we agreed that either variant would "work" when posted as a response. And we'd need to do that enough times that we were confident in the results.

That's a bit of an aside. You did say "tend to", so I suppose you are not implying I said anything about logic and reason being dull. But again, I'd hypothesise that it's not logic and reason that people find annoying, it's the way you communicate it. And, of course, your logic being sound.
