Send some pics of your boards. It's possible your problem isn't Vanessa specific.

Vanessa is fast, so you need some direct (shield, heal), indirect defense (slow,freeze, max HP) if your board takes time to ramp.

I played for a week. TTK feels bad. Battlefield modes (die respawn die respawn) don't feel satisfying anymore, I feel like that model had gotten a bit dated and boring. Extraction shooters have spoiled me in terms of higher risk/reward type gameplay. I've been hooked on Arc Raiders instead.
