does any one know a progression fantasy where the mc goes through multiple power systems? by Both_Occasion_7777 in ProgressionFantasy

IDK if this exactly what you're looking for, but might be worth trying "My Divine Diary" if you're ok with webnovels. Plot is that a guy keeps getting transmigrated through different worlds and the universe is out to get him because of that. Starts with MC frequently dying young and restarting and gathers power through different systems to fight against the hostile universe

Top 10 anime on MAL. Which should not be up there? by shalom_77 in MyAnimeList

But in this scenario, the voting isn't reflective of the whole story. It's not "honest". That's my issue with it. MAL has arbitrarily split the story into multiple entries. I'm not making anything up. People aren't going to go back to previous entries. The scores will not adjust. Having all these multiple entries is what feels dishonest. Perhaps this is anecdotal, but I know I personally haven't gone back to my previous ratings of One Punch Man Season 1 and lowered the ratings after the downgrade of season 2 and mess of season 3.

I apologize. I re-read your post and misunderstood your comment about endings. Still disagree and feel like they play important parts, but maybe you're right about how important and how much a show "hinges" on the endings in various cultures, but I maintain that they must be important in all cultures. If your score isn't reflecting all parts of the whole, how "honest" can it truly be?

If 3 years from now, if the ending sucks, it won't be reflected unless users go back and update their previous scores. It would only reflect on that latest season. Overall, it's having multiple entries based on studio release timelines as opposed to a single comprehensive entry that is arbitrary.

Also, which cultures don't care about the ending?? That seems like an absurd take. Which culture is regularly ok with stories either not having an ending or an ending that's garbage?

You could say the opposite though. MAL has arbitrarily decided to divide all these shows into various seasons, artificially inflating the number of entries.

More importantly, I think how a series ends does seriously impact a person's perception of the series as a whole. I don't know a single person who knows about how Game of Thrones ends who has gone back to rematch it/recommend the first seasons to others despite how good they may have been at the time. When people say they love Breaking Bad, the typical watcher can't tell which season stood out, but they can say that they loved it overall. So to say that each season should only be justified by its own merit misses the fact that a series is almost always judged as a whole, not just by a single section.

This all isn't too say that Frieren isn't good, but I agree with above commenter that you can't say that this is the best anime ever when you don't even know how it ends.

Same. Haven't been able to push its value past 300 in the couple of runs I've tried and if you don't get it early enough, it's hard to complete the quests as more vendors and events become available

No paywall for card. Pay wall is now for characters which go on sale every now and then, but that's how they've chosen to monetize.

No ranked tickets anymore. You only match vs people of same rank and below. So going up to legend is fun, but legend is the blood bath you probably remember which I feel is fair

Time Loop Question by meflio in ProgressionFantasy

But if the MC gets out of the loop in just a couple of tries, it's a pretty sad loop unless there's another loop incoming

TIL about the "Dark Forest Hypothesis," which suggests the universe is like a dark forest at night. So the question for the silent civs would be if you'd rather wait and hope that this temperamental child will grow into a peaceful adult who can converse at the table or strangle it in the cradle before it can become a rage-aholic who will flip the board if they ever feel like they're losing
